I took my car to Tim Barth at Mr Norms. Super super nice guy and very familiar with mod motors and Marauders.

Well considering I picked a nice hot mid 90's and high humidity kind of day. I was happy with the out come. Hp went from 397 to 400 and tq went from 400 to 410 during all the dyno runs. Hoping for a little more but it's sure a hell of a lot better than NA!!

We had the one big fan on and the two small ones trying to cool off the blower and all. It was just too frign hot & muggy.

Took me a couple of weeks working on it here and there. But I got it all done.

Man do the control arms, both sway bars and endlinks make the car ride and handle soooo much better!!
Jmod rocks too!!
Needless to say. I have been going through gas like I left the faucet on in the kitchen!!


I am going to switch my Eaton soon with another Eaton I just bought for $225 from a local guy with less than 10,000 miles on it. It's in really really mint shape.


I have a funny story about my dyno tune. Maybe I can find it, copy and paste it. Too much to type.

Here it is.

What a day at Mr Norms for my dyno. So my dyno time was at 1:00. So Tim the owner puts the car on the rollers and asks one of his employees to strap it down while he fired up his software. So he gets in the car and gives it just a little gas and the car rolled off the rollers. It was actually funny. So he did two very short runs and then went for an all out third run but stopped. Went a fourth time and stopped. He was very concerned with the amount of boost the car made. The engine wasnt near the red line and it made 14lbs of boost and still climbing. He would not dyno the car unless I changed the pulley combo. He didnt want me to destroy the motor under load out on the road some where.

So of course he doesnt have any upper pulleys bigger than a 3.0 and no lower pulleys for the Metco hub.

So as luck would have it. DTUB(Doug) a MM.net member who lives 10 minutes from Mr Norms stopped by to watch my dyno. And I **** you not. He had a smaller lower pulley and belt in his frign trunk!!!!! So the guys at the shop lent me tools and a jack so I could swap out the lower pulley. So now. Does his or my belt fit. My belt, Nope. too loose. His belt, Nope. Too tight. ****!!!!I call different auto stores and the owner calls his suppliers and no one has a ****ing belt thats a 1/2" bigger than his belt!!!! ****!!!! By now its about 3:30. So Doug and I start thinking. Lets modify the blower belt tensioner and give it more travel. **** yeah!!! Dougs a machinist so I took off the tensioner and he took it home and enlarged the bolt holes in order to rotate the whole tensioner closer to the belt and milled out so aluminum so the tensioner had another 1/8" of travel.

**** yeah bitches!!!! It worked. We got his belt on my car. And by now its 5:00 closing time and the tuner is late for dinner with his wife.
But he stayed so I would not have to drive back and tuned it and adjusted everything I asked him to!!!

So as for numbers. Not as high as I had hoped. But not shocked either as the temps were mid 90's and very high humidity.
The car kept pulling the timing down from 15 to 12/13 degrees. 11 pounds of boost. We had 3 fans trying to cool the motor but the weather just was not on our side. so I finally left there at 6:30!!!!

Tim Barth the owner/tuner is a super super nice guy.

And OMG is Doug (DTUB) a super super nice guy! I cant believe he had the lower pulley and belt in his trunk just by chance. So I asked him what he wanted me to do with his parts. He charged me only $75 for the pulley and belt.

So after that fiasco and talking with Doug. We noticed that My original lower Metco pulley was pretty frign big. I was sent the wrong pulley. A 4lb pulley perhaps!!


The car drives amazing!!! Oh man!! Ive driven SC MM's before. But for it to be my own!!! Woooooooooooooooooooo Hooooooooooooo!!!!

Im sure I left out some small detail but what evs.

Boost forever!!!!

That is awesome! sounds like a very eventfull afternoon. Also Tim refusing to go anymore with were the boost was, he knows his stuff. The car looks great Joe! Id like to see what it really makes on a 70 or below day.. Arent dyno days fun just never know what could happen.

Nice to finally meet you Joe and thanks for the kind words.

I'm just glad I could help you out on such a hot and humid day.

Your #'s were down that day but getting the Eaton you just bought Posi ported might help a lot, along with some exhaust mods.

I can't say enough about Tim Barth at Mr. Norms. He's been giving me lots of advice on my new combo and will be tuning for me soon.

If your planning on a tune with Tim let me no and I'll come out and help if anyone needs it. O BTW your car is mint Joe, the nicest DTR iv'e seen.

joe gave me a ride before i began my SC build and man the car is a beast! definitely made spending all that money a lot easier knowing mine was gonna turn out that way!

I can definitely say that Joe's ride is tuned really well and drives GREAT!!!
