I was working on the car in the street today, changing the ABS sensor. I had the music up loud so I could hear it while under the car. As I just finish running the wire up into the interior I see a man standing looking at me on the sidewalk. I continue my work and after two minutes he doesn't move a bit, still looking at me and the car. I think I was blasting Connie Francis.
"Too loud for ya?"
"Maybe the neighborhood."
"Nice answer." I turn off the radio.
"So you changing a tire."
"No my parking brake exploded. I bent the ABS sensor, but found one in a junkyard today off a totaled taxi cab. I love this car, it's so cheap to keep together... unless it's an engine problem, haha"
"Your car really looks nice. What year is it?"
"2003 model, but built on 7/15/2002."
"Wow you really know your car."
"Yeah I love it. It's my first CAR and it might be my last."
"Well it looks really nice. It's huge and I bet it's fun."
"Oh yeah. Sometimes so much fun people have a problem with it."
Then after that someone else is walking by with their dog and starts talking to me.
"Hey man I still love your car!"
"Hey thanks. Oh I remember you from last year..."
We talked and stuff. I never ever talk to anyone in the area, just not my crowd. The people in my area are C.E.O.s FBI agents (don't ask how I found out) Real Estate developers... they mostly drive Luxury cars and trucks. I don't really talk to anyone at all in the area, I don't have a lot to talk about that would interest them. One day I saw an Aston Martin a block from me and I found out the guys daily driver was a Bentley. I just happened to have the luck of having a few roommates to stay in such a safe area. It was funny to me that these people like our Marauders. I'm not saying they wouldn't, but it just seems that high class people only like high class products. A Marauder is far different from a Bentley, but a Bentley owner liked our cars.
Kinda cool.
This never get's old.
