i'm org. owner car has 55k on it, it's stock never beat on had a tranny service done 21k mi. ago. it's slipping into 1st gear but then runs just fine.
so i just had another tranny service done and no dice. my mechanic (who i trust and been going to for many years) said it's prolly the pump and need to rebuild the tranny. now my ? is why can't i just fix or replace the pump?
thanks for any help. also what could possibly went wrong to make the tranny go so soon.

The transmission was overhauled on my MM at 8k miles. Go figure.

It may be the converter---I had several CV's and at bout 25 K or so they both went south and it felt the same way---is there a way it can be checked?

Yes you can and it will be a slight upgrade. 03 LX has a 12" Stock. MM came with 11.25"

do you know the stalls on those converters?

I don't remember the stall for sure, but I do know that the 04 had a slightly higher stall speed. I was thinking it was around 2000-2200 maybe? I have also heard that the actual stall speed varies with HP. A converter with 2200 stall in a MM will be a little lower in a CV.

If it is the converter, a rebuild is still recommended. Unless your willing to take the tranny apart, clean it and pi it back together. Which.I.wouldn't.recommend
