You should check the classifieds as there are a couple listed.

Have to remember an aftermarket one is smaller compared to the stock one. Even a 2800 or 3000 would be an improvement over stock.

I've got a PI 3500 triple disc, it takes more throttle to get the car going but once it's moving it goes with more ease. I think if I were to buy again I would go with a 3000 or 3200.

Reinhart sells the PI converters.

Circle D is also an excellent choice.

So what would be the difference in the 3500 compared to the the 3200 or the 3500 compared to the 3000 that would make you choose one of those instead of the 3500 u got? Single-disc vs. Triple-disc?

Converters above 3000 can make street driving a slight headache, its not bad as long as you understand if your NA it will take more to get the car moving from a dead stop. Also have to factor in what rear gear you are running as well. I ran 3.55 gears with my 3500 for a few years, highway cruising was a blast then I got 4.10 gears and instantly everything improved 4.10s and 3500 stall converter are must combo for NA, also ideal with a centi s/c setup but can be slight over kill on a roots setup.

At the time when I bought mine I had a nice steady income going to my mod fund, planned on doing a nice weekend drag car and I got a great deal on the converter. But then I got married and mod a month program got shut down quickly.

If you don't daily drive the car or do a lot of highway then a high stall converter might be an okay choice. Since I ended up doing a lot of stop and go highway traffic and being daily driven the 3500 converter became a slight headache plus also had to be re-tuned for it. I would probably go with 3000 next time around just to have a middle of the road selection and not be more drag racer.

As far as single disc vs. triple disc is the same for manual clutches. The more discs you have the greater holding and transfer power. Single disc units will not hold up to WOT lock up for a long time, triple disc units will.

I would read up on them first before thinking about buying one.

I just had my 4000-4200 stall redone by Circle D. With a 4000 stall it was "mushy" when accelerating normally but when getting on it worked like a charm. I'm having it taken down to a 3200-3400 (actual stall depends on the engines power). This is mine:

I opted for the "2C" stall package. Low power n/a combos can go with a single disk unit in this link:

If I ever have mine rebuilt I will be having Circle D do the rebuild of it.
