I wouldn't even think about headers until your compressing air into your engine.

2v primarys are round.
4v primarys are oval.
Headers are a good upgrade when n/a if you get them real cheap if not there are many more bang for the buck mods out there.

Longtubes I would agree due to scavenging, shortys, you won't see any gains until much higher horsepower coming from 4.6s. MM&FF did thorough testing on this.

why would you guys do sc first. if your dumping more air into the motor with out letting it escape. exhaust then sc is what makes sense in my mind but then again im not a mechanic.

i plan on exhaust this year and hopefully sc next. but what do you guys think.. longtube are so expensive just wanting to go cheap 2.5 all the way out back with high 2 flow cats.

These engines breathe fine until you hit higher flows into and out of the engine. Spend your money on forced induction first. You'll thank me later.

I did my Eaton swap over exhaust for a few reasons. One being in an area with emission testing, two it's stealthy, and three I spent my extra cash on front & rear swaybars, endlinks, rear brake upgrade, Wilwood brakes up front and SS brake lines!! More bang for my buck!!

For the record, I got BBK LTH on my MM. Got them for just about nothing and had a good friend a MM.net urban legend put them in for me.

Finding all the parts together from one source for single purchase would be like winning the lottery. Better you should put a shopping list together and then start looking around for parts. Depending on how often you look and how many sources you regularly check, it'll take you between one to three months to gather everything up. PM me with your e-mail addy and I can send you some info on the stuff needed.

ImpalaSlayer's located in upper Delaware. He did my Eaton swap and I would highly recommend him if you're not planning to do your own installation.

if you have the money go with the long tubes but if not the shorty's will do just fine and they work with a supercharger just fine

I had BBK long tubes with a ceramic coating on my '93 Mustang. They gave better torque than shorties, but the quality of the BBK's are far below Stainless Works. The ceramic coating began flaking off the BBK's within 6 months after the install, and then they began to rust.
I installed the SW system on my Mustang and my 04 Marauder. The torque is amazing, and the quality goes along with the price. You get what you pay for.

Many people (myself included) enjoy 400+ HP on totally stock exhaust. :coolman:

Just to play devil's advocate here: I installed supercharger first and then headers and and full exhaust and it was the wrong order. The power I made and the way my car ran all improved dramatically after dumping the stock exhaust for the high flowing setup. Maybe I had plugged cats, I dunno. The car had less than 40K on it at the time, so this seems unlikely. Also, it's not like I'm making huge power, I'm putting down 453 WHP.

Can you get by with forced induction and a stock exhaust? Sure. By why would you want to? I'll never go forced induction on a car again without first having installed the exhaust.

It will depend HEAVILY I think on your ultimate power goal. If you don't have one BTW, you need to figure one out.

If you're looking for 400whp in one go, supercharge and be done with it. I believe in fact that with just a supercharger you'd probably be able to hit the safe limits of power on the factory block anyways. However, for a more serious build, yeah exhaust would be a good first step.

I think it really does come down to knowing where you actually want to go with it, in a very specific manner...

Everyone is correct. Headers without s/c results a small gain but still noticable. With a s/c up to apx 50 hp gain. When you do go for headers the Stainless Works long tubes are the best. You get what you pay for. As I tell my customers cost will effect you once. After the purchase you will be more concerned with quality & performance.
