:help:As stated above, somehow about a 5 inch piece of the chrome moulding that goes around my driver side window at the top got bent back and is now creased and sticking out...like a sore thumb:mad2: Anyone know the part number for that upper moulding and what is involved in replacing it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.---Russ

You don't indicate whether it's the LH front | rear ...

6W7Z-5420551-AA - front
6W7Z-54255A61-BA - rear

BTW ... They're stainless steel not chrome.

It is the driver side front window top moulding, stainless sorry not chrome...anybody got one and what is involved in taking it off and putting a new one on?

Baconbit ... anybody got one ...
Other than new, your best bet would be to search salvage yards for a donor 1998+ Crown Victoria or Grand Marquis.

The part is riveted onto the door, I believe.

Ok so I went to my local Ford Dealership and they quoted me $125 bux for the upper moulding...OUCH!...so I went to a local body shop that I know the owner and he told me he could get it for $82 bux...alot better but still pricey...Anyone happen to have one lying around???

To replace this molding you have to remove the inner door panel and side mirror. Then take out the bolts that hold the window channel in and lower the window. Then carefully slide the window channel down into the door to expose the pop rivets that hold the molding in. Drill out the rivets and remove. Install the new one in the reverse order. The new molding should come with small screws instead of having to use pop rivets.

Wow of course this would be the part that screws up, and it sounds like a pain in the a$$.

Yes it is a pain. Just make sure not to bend the window channel to much. It has a steel core and once its bent its almost impossible to straighten out. Good luck.
