I'm trying to pinpoint a small issue I'm having with my 03, when I first start up the car when the engine is cold and drive off the engine sputters and seems to choke a bit unless I sharply depress the petal to get the rps up, once I'm rolling it's fine but when I stop and re accelerate it take a few seconds to get going, I cleaned the MAF and IAC hasn't seemed to help. any ideas? the car idles fine and once you get the rps up above 1000 it's good, also when the engine has warmed up a bit it's 100% I do notice the exhast smells a little richer then usual when I first start the car, any ideas?

Is the intake tube tight and secured?

IAC If you cleaned a lot of carbon out of the IAC it may be on it's way out.
I cleaned mine to rectify similar issues, it was better for a very short time and the symptoms returned.
I replaced it and have not had any issues since.

Tube is tight, I have cleaned the IAC a few times, how about the air temp sensor or egr?

I had the same issues and after cleaning the MAF sensor with ELECTRONICS CLEANER and cleaning the intake with INTAKE AND MANIFOLD CLEANER, it is finally solved.
This may not be of much help but it would probably be easy to figure out if you could find someone to do a realtime data scan while you're having the problem. There are just too many possibilities left since you have already cleaned your MAF sensor and IAC valve.
It could be a temp sensor but...

Like Bradley stated just cause it was cleaned doesn't mean it's still good. Mine lasted through 3 cleanings and 75k but took a crap the last time I cleaned it. Got a new one from Ford, installed it and no more rough idle.

Electronics cleaner lol thats what I use, could that be the problem?

No That stuff evaporates by the time it hits something, unless you were doing chin-ups off the tiny resistor wire, buried in your maf sensor.

That's what they say to use because it leaves no residue behind on the wire. Worked for me. Last time I used intake cleaner.
Why don't you guys just use MAF cleaner? There's one made by CRC.

Mine does this too. I've cleaned the IAC, EGR, and MAF. Problem is still there. I'm leaning towards a weak coil. But since it only happens for a few seconds as I pull out of the driveway and doesn't happen again I haven't addressed it further. No DTC's either. Its a Ford with 86k, not a Maserati with 0 miles.

coils that are weak typically act the opposite the car runs decent til they get warm then they misfire.

im thinking egr, but, since i re cleaned the maf it has seemed to help alot, noticed something else tho, it appears that my tensioner pully has been wearing into the front cover yet it seems tight has anyone run into that before?

One of the most common over looked things in fuel injection systems is the 10.00 motorcraft fuel filter.-U may want to replace it:coolman:
