how much hp can a MM block take..i want to put in 03-04 cobra internals and dont want to worry about the block.

With forged internals, 800+ at the crank. WAP block has been taken over 1000, but, as those levels, an iron block would be a better option.

A stock MM lower end will handle 450 hp, no problem. The pistons and rods re the weak links. What type of mods are you planning to do?

Just curious, why not just swap a Cobra short block if you're considering a change?

Either an Aluminator or a CI Terminator my be your best bet.

700's crank isn't a problem with our blocks. Not with stock rotating assembly of course.. ;)

I know of several stock block Marauders that did not handle 450 RWHP and some transmissions too.

Big+1 on that i agree 450+ hp on a stock block w/forged internals shouldnt be a problem if properly assembled/tuned:coolman:

becuase those blocks can get pretty pricey..and i think its alot cheaper to just take the internals from a cobra and put them in the MM block..i goal is to do cams and headwork then a blower

That'll work fine. Different main bearings on our WAP block than the Cobra iron. Low cr Cobra pistons tells me you're going high boost with ported heads and longer duration cams.

I wouldn't blame the block for that, it's always something internal. If something breaks due to a bad tune or using stock parts at 450hp and puts a hole in the block, that's not the block coming apart, that's the internals becoming external. ;)

dang..mabye ill just throw an eaton on.plenty of guys running eaton swap that are close to that power, but if your planning to beat the living snout out of it forge it.

If you're planning to do yor own install, you can pick up all the parts need for an Eaton swap for between $3,000 and $4,000 (depending on used or new stuff, and what kind of deals you can work).

A conservative tune, 10 - 11 lbs boost, and you'll be putting out between 425 and 450 hp from the swap, and have a very reliable ride to boot.

sounds perfect..do you need to upgrade injectors and fuel pump?
