In the past 30 days I have been closely monitoring the black Marauder. These are some of the things I have found:
Had to add 26 ounces of distilled water to a FOMOCO Heavy Duty battery--one year old--some plates were showing--Idle voltage w/AC and running lites--10.5 before----12.2 after.
Tire pressures changed up to 5 psi
Engine running rich
Mileage down 2-5 mpg
With Outside air temp of 107 degrees---2PM--windows cracked 1/2 inch--parked with nose into sun--1 hour sit time
Dash pad/ windshield junction---185 degrees
Hood temp---160 degrees
Trunk lid-----145 degrees
Interior temps--NASA ceramic window tint--permanent attached , pull across white windshield curtain:
Console---105 degrees
Steering wheel--110 degrees
Headliner---115 degrees
Driver's seat---105 degrees
Air conditioner dash outlet temp---45 degrees after 5 minutes
All temps taken with precision calibrated thermometers, simultaneous readings --calibrated at 212 degrees.

They are just a few of the things we put up with for the priviledge of living in the Lone Star State;) But, it's a lot better than 6 feet of snow:beer: Hope you folks have cooler temps for MV 9--wish I could join you, but, my home is up for sale and we are moving from 5,000 sq ft to 1900 sq ft--anybody want a house and shop full of " junk", as Ginny calls it?? I will be with you in spirit--I sincerely hope to attend at least one more MV while I still feel safe driving a long distance---the Marauder is ready to roll NOW!!!! Drive safely, but with Gusto !!!, Maury

I will happily take 6 foot of snow over intense heat any day. To each their own I guess!

If I go out to my car from my house any time between, say, noon and 6-7pm, I break a sweat, and it isn't even because I'm terribly out of shape now.

Maury is right, this summer in Dallas it has been an azz-whuupin. I think they said we have had 51 days over 100 degrees so far this summer and its the second highest average temp here ever. I sure wish I had a Unibomber type cabin in Idaho or an Airstream parked along the Maine coast someplace. :)

I can send any of you guys a cooler of snow this winter if you'd like... :D
Would be funny to see a snowball fight in Texas!

Yeah...these Texas temps are getting old.....we have hit 38 days of 100 or more so far this year here in SA which is now second to 57 days in 2001. We just past 2009 which had 36 days. We have also only had a total of 5 days of rain since the begining of the year and it is killing our aquifer....almost to stage 3 water restirctions....which we have only done twice since I can remember. Stage 4 has never happend but we arent too far off from that either if we dont get anymore rain.

I would gladly keep these hot and rainless days over lots of snow, as it is we got about an 1/8 of an inch of the white stuff this year and the whole city shut down for a day...lol

+1, you can always put more clothes on, you can only take so many off :o

FWIW, its been hot and dry here this summer, nowhere near the heat in Texas, but I believe we are entering record territory for the number of 90*F days. I had a 106.3*F at my house a few weeks ago. Thats virtually unheard of here. Normally I can count the number of 90*F days on one hand for a entire summer.

On the other side of the weather, fuel oil for this winter is $3.13 a gallon on a prepaid contract. I hope we have a mild winter... Do I prepay or roll the bones that it will come down???
