This is debated a lot on the forums, much like what type of motor oil to run and when to change it.
I'll just tell you that I've got the MSD coil packs in my Vortech supercharged Marauder and I love them. I believe them to be a higher quality product. For what it's worth, when I had my Marauder tuned by the Shelby American people in Vegas they agreed that going with the MSD product was a good call.
There's certainly nothing wrong with the OEM product, though, so go with what fits your budget and you feel safest with. The MSD coils are going for about $350 for a set of eight on amazon.com.

EDIT: Correction. I just checked Amazon and they've gone up since I checked last time. They're about $400 right now. Looks like there's a $40 rebate, though.
Well how much is a complete set of OEM coils?

I have run Accell coils on my cars in the past with no problems. However, I've read quite a few forum posts over the years with people reporting problems.
Personally, I don't think we're talking about enough money here to warrant going cheap. I'll buy the best parts I can get to avoid problems down the road. People trip over dollars to save dimes all the time, but whatever works for them, I guess.

Ima order these msd coil packs and see if they live up to the hype. All I know is the OEM ignition coil on our cars suck big fat ones!! I will never buy em again. Thanks Ford for being cheap and making such a crappy design ignition coil.
My car is running like ass these past couple months and still is. I changed the spark plugs to the factory SP433 and it felt somewhat better already. My OEM ignition coils were smelling burnt when I took em out even the new ones that I replaced months ago were smelling burnt too. Hope these MSD Coils come through when I need em the most.

the OEM coils are great. Do your self a favor and test the the right way. Man I hope so cause when these OEM coils start going bad they dont throw no CEL codes. Testing them would probaly be the best way but im ready to throw in the towel and say screw it and try something like the MSD's. I will report back and see how they are.
Advance auto has em for about $410 Buckos out the door. Ima go order em right now as they take 11 days to get in.. Somebody wish me luck!!!

I personally have the Accel coils in my Marauder with absolutely no issues. I have used both Accel and MSD products on several occasions and would recommend both products. I prefer MSD in situations were it is a visible piece honestly just because I don't find the Accel yellow color too attractive but since its not visible in the Marauder Application so either is good.

I personally had a bad experience with accell coils on my MM.
Would suggest OEM or MSD.

I had them for about 1 year, good at first. One went bad, wasn't sure which one, but didn't trust them so pulled all and went back to OEM.

Many here including myself run the Granatelli solid COP connectors. They are beefy, have 0 Ohm resistance and transfer energy more easily than the "bic pen spring" factory design, and solidly "click" connect to the plugs. The solid COP connectors also have a powered iron ferrite core to filter EMI/RFI etc. I have the GMS ropes, running with the OEM cops and it's fine. The higher end GMS 4v Cops are decent, but I still personally prefer OEM or MSD (with the GMS solid cop connectors).
lol hows that for an answer..:P These are just my opinions - I could be wrong, YMMV etc.

The OEM connectors look like the weak link, that's for sure.

Update the car feels like a big difference with these beefy MSD coils. It pulls better now and thats something I didnt get to feel with the burnt OEM Motorcraft garbage COP's. Im very happy with these MSD's COP's and they are well worth the money. My car has never ran so good til now and its coming alive finally.

I replaced the coil packs on my 04 Mustang GT with Accel and changed the plugs for its 60k tune up. my question is are the coils packs interchangable from the 2v 4.6 to the 4v 4.6?? my marauder has about 145k on it now with original coil packs, didnt know if it would be worth it to switch to the lower mileage coils? do u just need to change the boot or will they not work all togther?
