Anyone know exactly where and how accessible it is?

Behind the glove box. It also has the controls for the speed sensitive power steering. Do you need one?

Not sure yet, Brian. Bunny was on her way back from the store and noticed the car was riding really hard. No issue going TO the store. When she got home, she noticed the back end was collapsed. The compressor doesn't turn on and the air bag solenoids don't open so I can't manually fill them.

I was going to try jumping the pins on the connector at the module to see if I can get everything to re-inflate, then maybe steal the module from The Blackbird and order another one.

If that all works, I'll definitely be in touch with you... ;)

check the ride sensor, located on the rear axle, my pin, rod, whatever it's called, popped out ,causing the suspension to drop, hope this helps

Hopefully that's it. I swapped RAS modules with the one from The Blackbird and it still doesn't work so hopefully I can get Phoebe up on the ramps and see if it's anything underneath now.

I'm having a similar problem with the 2003 MM I just bought. I had Firestone check it over, and they said that all the relays and fuses were good, but didn't know about the module and the compressor itself. Those are two really expensive parts ... anyway to replace them cheaply?

I was just experiencing the same problem. Mine unfortunately was the compressor which I am waiting on. You can pick one up for about $200 dollars for Arnott. Do a quick google search, you will find it. You can get a complete rebuild kit for around $400. For now, I manually filled my suspension with a compressor, it seems to work for now. Email me if you need specific details on how, or have some more questions. gid_metz99@yahoo.com

Already purchased and installed the compressor from Arnott's when it failed last year.

I am not attempting to be a smartass... I just cannot make sense out of that statement. Is it missing punctuation or am I just reading it wrong. :/

I think Bunny's saying that they've already experienced, and addressed, a compressor failure; what they've got for an issue now may be the control module for the suspension system.

so behind the glove box is where its at, mine only does it when sitting in the heat it seems and i can turn it off and back on and it works, but the steering feels like it has no power steering...

Bruce Wayne called it.

After much wailing and gnashing of teeth and trying everything BUT that, it turned out to be exactly what happened to him. I couldn't even look at the issue again until today due to cleanup at work from Irene...popped the connecting link back on and wallah: I get to feel dumb. The height sensor seemed to be a bit stiff and jerky, and I live in the rust belt, so I ordered a new one just in case...$77.78 from tascaparts.com.

For future reference, the RAS module is super-easy to access. Just take out the glove box door (2 screws) and it's right there. 2 connectors and it just clips into its bracket.

Who's the suspension specialist on the MM's?
Replaced the compressor for the rear suspension and the car doesn't raise as high
as before the compressor failed. Is there a specific compressor just for the Marauder?
Thanks!

It is possible that the sensor with the rod is no good. The compressor part number is 4W3Z.5319.AA .

Is there a specific compressor just for the Marauder? No, it's the same one as any CV, GM or TC with RAS.

If the air springs went completely flat when the compressor failed, it may have knocked the height sensor out of whack, so it doesn't come back to the same place.

When the rod popped off mine, I noticed the sensor did not move smoothly...it was very stiff and jerky. The new one just arrived today and it works very smoothly, so maybe yours is getting the same way.

REF 13. Replaced the compressor and now the Merc is at its correct height in the rear.
Thanks for your help! Apparently the compressor motor failed and the compressor is good. I'm going to try to repair it and have an spare.

I was able to get the motor for the compressor to operate again.
The compressor discharge pressure is 160 psi.
Now I have three spares.
Thank you guys for all your help!
Have a Great Week!
