sounds like the bearings are on their way out, it charges ok, but it clicks took the alternator out and ya, it dont sound or feel the smoothest, took the front pulley cover off and didnt see a nutt, just what looked like a splined insert that looks like a special tool is required to unscrew, whats involved in replacing the bearing's on this alternator?

You need a special tool to remove the pulley.
Just FYI, VW uses the same pulley, I brought mine to a VW dealer, and they removed the pulley for free in 5 min.
I know some here have the tool, maybe someone can lend you theirs, or point you in the right direction....

You can't replace the bearings yourself. Take it to a shop, spend the 40-50 dollars and have a pro do.it.

I have one of the tools to take the pulley off around somewhere, it came with the Trilogy kit. You're welcome to borrow it, shoot me a PM and we can arrange something.
