I had mine replaced on the DTR under warranty, and IIRC, it was a major undertaking. All the same, that's big bucks...:depress:
Ouch! That's a chunk of change.

And this is for the best selling vehicle in USA! They told me which wires to disconnect, since they can't do it themselves. At least, I now have brakes, although non ABS. It may have factored into one accident (brakes can be extremely hard to push, before unplugging.)

The part that fails in these is the computer board, ( I make thousands of these everyday) for both new car, and after market. The ones for the GM trucks, (10 of them) are all the same, the same for the Ford trucks, it's just the enclosure, and pigtail that are different. I think with a little time fbm could make any panther module work, for your MM, the difference is with traction control, or without.

That's about right price wise list plus core for both the HCU and ECU.

Modulemasters, $180 including shipping back to you, no bleeding of anything, maybe an hours worth of your time.

I would disconect the ABS as you will stop fasted without it as long as you can drive and control a skid.
Dealer replaced ABS ECU module. took several days to get the part. Problem fixed.
Total bill parts & labor $903.00. 12 month warranty. Several repair shops that I made inquiries did not repair this model ECU.

This has to be done by the dealer or the brakes will not work. They need to reset the computer, which is something not Zack can do... I think. No matter what a dealer must be involved. Or you can take your old unit off, install another and tow it. They will reset it then, but good luck getting the car on and off the trailer with no brakes.
Ask me how I know. hahaha

Are all of the ford control modules made in China? I'm getting that feeling. If it isn't the LCM, or the A/C module, then it is the ABS module. And Ford never comes in below $ 900 for these repairs. A $ 3.00 component in a $ 700 part, and a $ 400 labor charge. And the FBI looks for criminals...have they checked a local Ford dealership!

While dealer prices may be high, if it's out of warranty, you can go anywhere you like. As far as a "dealer only" being able to modulate the ABS pump, that's not correct. and, the electronic module bolts to the front of the ABS pump, removing it requires nothing more than 2 electrical connections and 6 torx head screws removed, no bleeding of anything is necessary.
As I posted, modulemaster does an outstanding job of rebuilding these, and gives a 5 year warranty with the repaired unit. Sometimes, if a module isn't listed on their page, a simple phone call is all it takes to get it handled and a price for the repair.

I know there is a guy on mac1registry that makes ABS delete manifolds. All of the stock brake lines will work, it is a solid block of aluminum that is machined to accept the stock lines and just eliminates the ABS function.
