After reading more and more here at MM.net, I've moved a tune up on the "List". I see the 2 main tunes from Lidio and DR..Is there any differences between the two? or do they both accomplish the same thing and is more of a preference to which vendor one likes to work with. Any info appreciated. can reply here or send me a pm. Is a CAI helpful with a tune?..

Thanks All

I don't really know if a CAI is needed or not but it sure looks and sounds a lot better than the stock intake.

Either Lidio's or Dennis' tune will give you a much improved shift schedule and improved performance, but there are some differences. Both guys have been around since the beginning, and both know Marauders and their tuning nuances.

Out of the box, DR's tune has a more aggressive shift schedule, and higher shift pressures, so if you do, or don't like firm, take that into consideration.

FWIW, I went with the DR tune when I first started doing my mods and was very pleased with it.

It all depends where one is located also. You want to be able to have custom tuning when the time comes.

I have them both in my Xcal 2 and have run them both.
Even though Lidio is closer to me I find that the DR tune is more to my liking (taking nothing away from the Lidio tune).
Just my 4.6 cts. worth.;):):P

Love my Zack tune.
IBTL!

FWIW I have a DR chip that is good for the '03 Marauder with FDH2 computers (I think). If it will work on your '04 you can just have it. You'll have to meet me somewhere close to home though.

Check your trans fluid first and consider flushing. Shudder is a common issue after so many miles. A tune with a firmer shift will more than likely clear up the issue but for the sake of your transmission check the status of your fluid before anything. ;)

Feedback on price differences between the Lidio and DR? I had a Lidio in my 1st Marauder and liked it alot. I forget what I paid for it. Also can they be calibrated for 91 octane? What's the going rate for the two?

...I know it's not cool to ask about Zack's tune. I've tried, no luck.

Thanks again as usual.

I've two Reinhart Marauders, and currently own a Zack Marauder. Lidio and Reinhart both do good work and have supported the community for years...but my car is faster with the Zack tune and the transmission shift schedule is more to my liking. I'll leave it at that but if anyone would like quantifiable evidence, feel free to PM.

And RubberCity, let me know what your computer code is...you have first crack at it (for free). After that, it goes up for sale.

The code doesn't matter according to Zack. Just goes by years.

A tune up will not change the sound.

I have had DR tune since 2008. I have always been pleased. When my car was stock, with his tune, the shift schedule hit 2nd gear pretty hard. I personally liked that for a while. Then I got car s/c'd and he changed that up. I ran that tune for a while and called him to help with changing the tire size in my tuner. He emailed me a new file for free and also said try out my new shift schedule for the tranny. It was a major improvement!! What I like about DR is he will work with you and help you any way he can over the phone. What I like even better is how he upgraded my tune at no cost. Now, I don't know if that is SOP but I appreciated it and he's always helped me out. If you are having some issues with your car and needing a tune up I'd give him a call and discuss what to do. This will only enhance your tune and the cars performance. Good luck with your decision.
