No more Cooper tires for me. Why? I'll tell you why. Just got an email from 'em today telling me my rebate has been rejected, so no $75 rebate for me... which was THE reason I chose to get 4 Cooper Zeon RS3-As instead of only the two rear tires that I actually needed. They threw it out on a freakin' technicality! I even sent an attached note with my rebate form/reciepts explaining what the situation was. I never thought they'd be total ass hats about it. Needless to say I'm pretty peeved right now to put it mildly. Here's a copy of the email they sent me plus my response/nasty-gram. You guys can buy their tires if you want to, of course, but as for me I'll not soon forget their obvious big corporate "let them eat cake" attitude toward me, the little guy.

I just wanted to tell you that I think your rejection of my rebate claim is total B.S. I sent an attached note with my claim form detailing the reason why the tires were unavoidably purchased in two separate orders. There was no other way to order the tires I needed for my particular vehicle through treadepot.com. I invite you to go to the web site yourself and attempt to purchase the two different size tires that my 2004 Mercury Marauder requires in a single order. I tried to but could not. I am a single father that struggles to make ends meet therefore I am always looking for any opportunity to save money in any way possible. Buying car tires is a costly affair these days for one in my shoes and finding that Cooper was offering a substantial rebate was a huge factor in my choice to buy your tires over another manufacturer's selection. I called my two local authorized Cooper tire retailers but neither of them were able to get for me the Zeon RS3-As that I needed. I resorted to searching internet sellers and found only two which had the Cooper tires in stock in the sizes my car requires; naturally I purchased from the one which offered the most economical price. As I said; I did my best to purchase my four, two different size tires in a single order but I have no control over how the seller's on line shopping system works.
To me your decision to reject my claim on that technicality indicates a "screw 'em" attitude on your part. Rest assured that this will be the absolute LAST Cooper tires I'll ever purchase. I look forward to forewarning my many fellow Marauder owners on the various Marauder-owners web sites of my treatment by Cooper Tires in this matter.
Btw, when I had the Cooper Zeon RS3-A tires mounted and balanced on my OEM wheels I was disappointed to discover that the manufacturing quality was less than I'd hoped for. The tires displayed an unusually wide degree of balancing spread between the 4 tires; ranging from 2.0 ounces to as much as 4.25 ounces. Of the four tires three of them fell outside the max allowable balance weight according to manufacturer's specs. I was willing to accept this quality defect in light of the expected compensation via the rebate, but, now I see not only do I have to settle for less than desirable tires on my cherished car but also a big fat "screw you" when it comes time for Cooper to fulfill the incentive that led me to choose buying the Zeons over the OEM BF Goodrich tires in the first place. Thanks for nothin' Cooper!
Sincerely,
Don Turner
