Just curious how much power a marauder can produce with this blower and the right mods.
And the owner decides to go balls to the wall!!!
600+RWHP perhaps???
Obviously you would need a built motor. Check. :D
Headers & full exhaust would also be nice. Check. :D
Maybe a 4# cobra crank pulley. Check. :D

Well with a 3.0 RR upper and same size lower as reg Eaton swap,LT headers,65mm twin TB and standard Eaton conversion parts 80lb inj Twin GT pumps & Bap I made 545/552 20psi on a low comp Alluminator (8.5:1) on a conservative street tune. Again that was on Tim Barth's dyno which I keep hearing reads low, I plan to have another shop do some pulls and see what they show it is making. Now if I wanted to get a little crazy on the tune I know theres more there how much??? What I like is the TQ is more then hp # which is normal for a Whipple. I have also been looking into possibly changing to a new 2.9 Just thinking about it right now.. Chris (blown3.8) says 600 can be seen with this set up also ck with him Jake also Iam sure hell be doing the work for ya!!!!

4# lower 3.2 upper gen 2 blower=24psi and spark blow out when you get to 3rd gear with a .032" gap on NGK BR7EF plugs and cats. 4# lower stock with 2.3 whipple 3.5 upper=20.5 psi no cats .025" gap. No dyno numbers yet. Both with long tubes and 3" exhaust. Makes great torque.:) Fuel pump duty cycle at 80-90% on the 20 psi with 2 GT40s 2 BAPs and 2 FPDM's. Duty cycle maxed at the 24psi. BA 2800 also almost maxed at 24psi. Car ran very well on the 20psi.

Chris you got 24psi with a 3.2 upper and 4lb lower?? I got 3.0 upper and 4lb lower and was 20-21psi also a Gen2?? thats interesting especially considering on cooler days Ive seen boost guage read 23psi, I was thinking my guage was off? maybe not I truly think the tank either really needs 2 outlets like fordnut (Brian) has or just go full return style w/sump like Zack has. Brian is running 2 gt pumps and 1 bap and just maxing out at like 740. makes me think the pumps are having to work harder to push fuel thru the 1 outlet from the tank.

Didn't merc make 600rwhp with a 2.3l whipple? How was his set up?

Hopefully Chris chimes in on that, But someone told me that was a racegas tune? I look at it like this Landy a 03 termi with gen2 18-19psi makes around 630-640 on a street tune, with manual trans we lose something with auto. How much? Factors for me was on a dyno that a bunch of folks say always reads low, my fuel set up, & used Whipple Not that the last one is a factor. Driving my car for sometime now I would say on a cool day it feels like more then 545/552. Iam gonna be curious what I get on another dyno 565? 570? My tune also is conservative it could probably take more timing, Do I want to though? I like my motor and want it to last. On another note Dennis has the centri cars he does pushing 20psi and cobra long block and they make close to what Iam seeing also??? How much psi do you plan on running Landy

Brian found out. Much more than 550RWHP and incident rate with trans issues goes up.

Thats pretty much a now brainer. Ford is not known for there auto trans taking a whole lot. We pulled out with mine off the dyno and mashed it thru all the gears and you could feel it very, very slightly just getting overpowered,Not really slipping just motor was overpowering the trans. Since then though I have had no problems but I also dont run the **** out of it. It's also another reason Ive been in no hurry to do anything else till I get the funds to put a built tranny in it.
Anyone think about porting their whipple??? :hmmm:

Then how is it a "brainer" to up the HP and not have a trans to use it?
Are we only talking about "Garage Queens" and Show Cars?
Brian and others have had many a "built tranny" that unbuilt.

You may be able to do something with the elbow and a single blade TB, but, the Whips are designed really well for airflow!

Not arguing that at all.
But still wondering what a ported one will do?
Or are you saying it wouldn't be worth it to port one?
What type of gain do you think would be made?

Ha I knew it was gonna happen but considering we wont have a track in St Louis till next year I wont be able to run it WOT. You said it youreself Racing on the street is dangerous THAT is why mine hasnt seen much WOT yet!!!!!! However I sure love the fact just driving it spirited with much more TQ then a centrifigul. With my Imaginary Blower as someone called it before I did it. Also no garage queen here I drive this car everyday, everywere Thank you

So the complete question is what can I do to up the HP and to get a tranny that will take it?
As far as TQ I cannot floor it on the street below ~40MPH, it just spins the tires.:D
I am at the max for my DD Foot Brake Street car, any more and the tranny will let go or the track will kick me off for not having a roll bar.

Honestly suprised you have gotten this much out of the tranny. As for mine I knew it was gonna happen but the fact I wouldnt be able to run it till next year is buying me time to get funds together for the Tranny I want rather then look for a cheaper alternative built tranny. Not to mention Sailsmen it seems to getting to around 570 and above comes with other problems seems like 550ish is a majical# and still be a very solid daily driver?

Todd I will be running somewhere around 14psi because of my high CR. Hoping for high 400's on 93 octane and close to 600 on that juice.
BTW with the right TC the stock tranny should last longer. We will see how that goes when I put the hammer on it.

Merc did make 600 on his whipple with 4# lower and 3.0 upper. They said he only made 20psi. That does not sound right to me after putting Sherms setup together.
Bone stock fuel system here save for the pumps, BAPS and injectors. No FF upgrade or line upgrade. I'm sure there is more to be had with bigger lines out of the pumps we have.
The boost recall button on the gauge says 24psi. Not sure if it blew the spark out then the boost started backing up and spiked at 24. My eyes were glued to the wide band.
Bodyman, you have a dual blade TB tho don't you? We have a single blade.
We have a basic built tranny and it holds up fine to 1.44 60's on a total of 250hp shot of n2o. I cannot say the same for the detroit true trac. They are showing signes of wear, so beware drag racers using the true trac. I'll post that up later.
Jake, what MAF and injectors do you have?
60# injectors and a diablo maf.

For street driving I truly think high 400's is a good enough# and safe enough to ellieviate others things happening. But I know with the GOGO juice youll probably end up needing a tranny eventually which Iam sure you know.

From what Zack was telling me it is the same heigth as a 2.3 but the blower is longer so Iam guessing it has a shorter snout. he didnt clarify what he was talking about with belt issue. They are 3704 shipped from Lethal.
Do they make one with a crusher inlet?

The inlet is identical to a whipple 2.3. Whipple does not make a crusher setup for this size inlet, but other companies do

Another option might be a VMP 2.3L TVS. There's supposed to be a kit for the Cobra in the works, ready for release in the near future. From my dealings with a few friend's GT500's they put equal power down as the larger twin screws up to around 20psi. Would really add to the sleeper look, they look close to a regular Eaton.

Yep the GT500 guys are making really good power with them around 750 almost 800. It will be very interesting to see how this kit compares to a 2.3 Whipple and like you said size wise almost like a regular Eaton Here is Justin from VMP discussing it on Modular Fords http://www.modularfords.com/forums/f17/vmp-2-3l-tvs-terminator-pics-178444/index5.html
