Just curious, but does anyone have or though about raised white letting tires on your MM? I like how they look on the late 80's early 90's GM's and CV's but I thought I'd start a thread to see if any pics pop up, thanks.

I think you hit the nail right on the head.
It was an early 80's think, looked tacky then and still would be now

Raised white lettered tires are so 70s.

They would go great with a disco ball hanging from the rearview mirror.

Maybe I'm not paying attention, but do they even make white lettered tires for cars?, I've only seen them on trucks............

You know with all the "odd" things we have seen done to marauders I don't think raised white letters would look so bad?

Any one remember the Uniroyal tiger paws with the red pin stripe sidewalls?

I saw a pic on FB of one with gold seal yellow walls on it.

I started to think about this when I saw the posting about the Marauder branded tires a few days ago.

I'd go with the thin red stripe.

I think white letter tires look FANTASTIC on very muscular looking cars. While by today's standards I feel that the Marauder looks quite muscular, in comparison to older cars it's a bit too round to really stand out in that way. It'd be a close call in any case.

I'd love to see that picture again though...

RWL tires were awesome. Had them on my 75 Camaro in the 80's. BFG Rad T/A's on Craiger SS's. When Black Walls came in as a fad & stuck, it was sad...

I don't hate it. But I don't love it enough to do it to my tires.

Does anyone remember the white marker/clay/white out stuff to make your tires look like "Smokey and the Bandit"?

I agree! We are so use to looking at blackwalls that they become the norm. :burnout:

I have FIRESTONE INDY 500 raised letters on my 94 Tbird black LX, standard wheels.

I think they add a lot to the car.

I put ww on my 2003 retro.

I wouldn't do raised lettering on my retro or my wife's Lincoln LS.

I would like the looks of Goodyear Blue Streak tires on my Merc.

I kinda like how it looks, but the BFG lettering is too small.

If I decide to go with RWL tires, it'll be with a set of Hoosiers and it'll be prominently displayed...

Yea that was my car, I used tire markers from autozone. It takes way too long to do and then will only last about two weeks before it starts to look yellow/brownish. I re-did it once but got lazy with the upkeep so i scrubbed it off.
IMHO, I dont think its worth doing. Ive heard of people just painting the letterson their sidewall but i wouldnt do go white again.

I would like to see BFG make a modern trire, TA2??, in the popular modern sizes, maybe slightly smaller lettering. Would look good imo. Business oppurtunity for someone...Coker???

Don't look bad I think but I'm old school I would put them on with small lettering of course not giant letters like on a SUV .everything is too plain and black these days I think.lol.
