A friend of mine snapped some pics off yesterday as some cars were being unloaded and teams were setting up.

I've got tickets for Saturday's racing....should be really cool to see them hitting 140mph going down Pratt Street!

(I think that I did that a few times back when I used to frequent HammerJacks!...)

Me too, except no 140 mph! The '81 Buick Station wagon got a little squirrelly at 70 mph! Also, that was back in the day when you could drive through the city without your headlights on and the police officer would pull up next to you and tell you to turn your F'n lights on A hole...:D

Sorry I didn't see your post about the free tickets, I had already bought mine online.

We headed down today and had a great time....LOTS of people, but everyone was spread out over a huge area of downtown Baltimore.
Got to watch the race from 5 different vantage points.
Those guys can DRIVE!....:bows:
Sharp curves, hairpin turns and thick concrete jersey wall surrounding you.........no place for mistakes!

Watched qualifying yesterday. Looks like it will be crowded when they put 20 cars on the course. The chicane in front of the light rail tracks looks interesting, there will be drama there!

They put that chicane in to keep the cars speeds down as accelerate onto the main straightaway and cross over Howard Street.
The transition across Howard Street is essentially a big bump and even at the reduced speeds the cars really lift up and jump when crossing over that street.
I'm not sure which is worse....
I was watching from right in front of the chicane and some cars were getting totally airborne by hitting the chicane's bumps.....

It was really cool to watch LMPCs, Porsches, BMWs, Corvettes and Ferraris mixing in up on tight urban streets!!....:bows:

BTW: Those cars are frikkin' LOUD!

I'll be watching the big race on TV this afternoon....
