Why have MM Wheel prices gone from $100 to $150 to $200+?

Are they being destroyed or put on other vehicles?

you mean the wheel or the tire? Because mercury marauder wheels have never been selling for 100-150. They usually run from 185 and up.

Years back, you could get the fronts off TireRack for ~$79.00 ea.

Rears were around $139.00 ea.

Assuming he is referring to tires.

Agreed. Never seen our rims sell that cheap that I can recall.

Mike.

Less than 1 year ago I bought 2 wheels 1 for $100 and 1 for $125 from different people.

I have seen them for sale in salvage yards for $100-$150 each.

Until recently I have seen them advertised for $100-$150 each.

I would assume supply being the issue. If I remember reading correctly they are no longer made, so shelves are clearing out, the car hasn,t been made for 7 years, so there is less and less of them wheels available every month be it salvage or new ones forgotten on a shelf or in someones garage.

Just my $0.02

Reason for rim prices ..... limited production.
originals are now 10years old.
a lot of damaged rims.
new round of 1st time Marauder buyers wanting - rims in better condition.
widened rims. being used on other vehicles.
the market demand and what it will bear.
etc., etc., etc..

Where and When for me a Wheel is a Wheel and a Tire is a Tire.
A rim is the outside edge of a wheel.

I don't buy a set of rims. I buy a set of wheels.

It all depends on Where and When.

The Forum is "Tires & Wheels"

Some motorcycles have rims with spokes connected to a wheel hub. Cars have wheels with tires on them.

Ford calls them wheels. Each wheel has two rims. It is not proper to call a wheel a "rim".

Calling a wheel a rim is equal to ghetto slang, and I do not approve.

From now on I ban the use "rim" on this forum, except where properly used.

And before any of you decide to make any smart-Alec remarks, look at my profile, and understand that I drive the Berserker Marauder.
