Put a set of spark plugs in today and noticed that there was a small puddle of oil around the base of the spark plug while still installed in the head.Possibly a bad gasket inside the valve cover where it seals off the top part of the head where the plugs go( Coil Cover gasket).Causing a misfire on cylinder #8 but not showing any codes at this time.

Sounds like you already know what it is. Are all the surrounding cover bolt tight?

Yes I think I have to remove the valve cover and replace the coil cover gasket on the inside of the valve cover.

The coil cover only seals out water
Each of the plug wells have a o ring seal between the valve cover and head. You will have to pull the valve cover

I change my plugs every 15K miles and every now and then #8 plug tube has a little oil in it!!
It won't hurt a thing and would be a pain to replace the gaskets (might make it worse) so I have left it alone!!
Last change at 220K miles it was dry!!!
