Sounds like fun. Have a goood time. Post slip results. Maybe Racerx will be there. Labor day weekend traffic would be unbearable from my destination.

I want to take my bike down the track so bad. Never got the marauder down the 1420, but I want to get the bike down it! Now that the weather is what it is around here, seems like the perfect air to make some passes! Goodluck sir!

If I can get someone skinny to come up with me I will let em take a pass.

I suspect This car can break 14.99 in pure stock form. I had a 90 5.0 Mustang with wasted Trac loc clutches and 2.73 gears and managed a 15.1 or so with it. Pretty sure the Marauder would eat it up.

NED street nights Wed and Friday 8 weeks left till close

She is running LIKE A BEAR fresh plugs a few months ago. I forgot to bring the stock air filter so it DOES have one mod a K&N Panel drop in filter. Ran really strong after cleaning the MAF and resetting the PCM.

Fresh set of Stock tires, only 500 miles on the 75W140LS Mobil 1 Synthetic rear fluid

Come on someone!! it's nowhere near as fun to go by yourself.

No. Today HE is fifteen. They would be twins noob! :P

"Come on someone!! it's nowhere near as fun to go by yourself."

Sorry! :( Wish I could. Definitely another time. The new track is awesome though. Do you have traction control? Make sure it's off and the OD is off too. Avoid the water box. N/A with street tire I wouldn't bother with a burn out. Just have fun!

How often does the NED host these open events? I'd like to make a trip there at the end of the month if I can schedule my vacation properly. Thanks in advance Chevyguy!

I may shoot up wednesday night after work. NED has open races every Wednesday and Friday from 5:00 to 10:00 and a lot of weekend days you can find them doing Test and Tune, which is great for runs. One time I got seven runs in on a Saturday and that's with hanging out and watching too. New England Dragway has a nice schedule on their site.

Oh! I have someone with another Marauder that will be willing to meet up too! Finally got to pin the guy down with the other black I see here locally. Guys name is Dave, cool guy. Very nice MM!

Looks like Every October Sat is Test n Tune. My first ever Drag trip was a Sat afternoon at NED. Ripped off a 14.89 in my bone stock 91 5.0 Mustang, it did have the sick 3.08 gear option at least!!

Ran last nite, been a few years since my last trip it was fun.

Best was a 15.436@ 92.47 MPH with my weight it's like taking a co-driver for anyone else!!
About 70F and near 90% humidity.

http://i348.photobucket.com/albums/q329/folingo/MarauderTimeslipStock.jpg

Best run was when I forgot to shut off the Trac and OD, plenty of bite. Loading up the converter slowed it down just like others had predicted

Next up, Lido tune should be shipping soon!!

Oh yeah!!!

Filled up with Gulf 93 again today, third straight from same place.

Pulled the fuel pump fuse as per instructions (this is a PIA and sets a MIL code anyone skip this??) uploaded the stock tune and downloaded the 3.55 gear 93 Octane tune.

Took for ride WOW!! Noticed it shifted nice shifted 3-4 about 35-38 MPH just as it hits 2K rpm. Can sorta feel that the TC is not locking but feels nice. First chance went WOT at about 30 MPH and it dropped right down to first and revved up to 6100 and had a nice firm 1-2 shift, pulls much harder now!!

Me likey and will probably do 4.10 gears sooner than later now :)

On your slip, you're falling off quite a bit on the big end. 10.1 is a good 1/8 time for bone stock, but you should be running it out in 15.0xx @ 95ish. Maybe the heat and humidity gave you a bit of knock and the sensors pulled timing. Tune should get you nearer 14.5 to 14.7. Look for my son up there as he goes about every week. Drives an '01 F150 with a loud exhaust. Big kid, real knowledgable, and a real nice guy.

Anyone going to NE Dragway this weekend? I got confirmation from my best bud/technician(get's annoyed if called a mechanic) that my lack of a fuel vapor canister shouldn't be an issue on the 1/4 mile and have been dying to see what the 4.10's and DR tune can do.

Edit: Just started reading NED's rules and will need to call them to see if this is considered a 'safety' issue.

RacerX
09-23-2011, 03:59 AM
It has a state inspection sticker, right? Any engine lights come on? They check more of the mechanical/safety stuff anyway. Isn't it supposed to be a wet weekend though?

fesifisky
09-23-2011, 05:32 AM
It is inspected and legal in that respect. The CEL came on after the manhole cover ripped off the evap canister. Other than that she's good, new tires in the back, decent tires up front, driver's seatbelt works, no passenger seat at the moment so no worries on that belt.

I did read that it's supposed to rain, but right now its looks ok around here, then again, I'm a good distance away from the track. I've just been dying to go and this is one of the only Friday's I can make it so I'm hoping for dry weather.

HAHAHA, fml, kinda glad it rained now, on the way home from work, an old lady in an SUV forced me into a curb check, of course it was one of those taller, pointy square curbs, sliced my nice new tire. Luckily I was 5 minutes from where I got them and will have a new tire tomorrow and hope next friday looks better.

Yeah the stock tune did feel like it was not pulling as hard as it does on the street. Weather was nearly foggy I was running the AC as the windows were fogging up waiting to stage as I have to have the windows closed. The best run was even when I forgot to shut off OD and TRAC, AC on (WOT cutout shuts it off)

Plus let's face it, I weigh as much as 2 normal adults so the weight did slow me down. Here's my slip with me and my brother who is taller but not as fat as I I did beat the dude who was driving a Mazda 3 sport turbo despite his faster ET as I was timing the lights much better by then. I was running 15.8 with poor 60' at first due to the extra time needed to get the car wound up before the lights came on.

http://i348.photobucket.com/albums/q329/folingo/IMG_0138.jpg

So added about 250-300# and dropped about 0.6 sec and 3 mph

The car would have run a 15 flat with a sub 200 lb driver

In case anyone has questions on rules and regs for racing at NED. The faster you go, the more rules. New England Dragway 2011 Racer Handbook:

Thanks X, ended up reading that before I left for NH yesterday.

Ended up with 8 runs, though I'd like to forget one of them(ran a 17 because I spun my tires a 3rd of the track). Best time: 14.717 and a best speed of 95.41.

Definitely need to work on the launch and reaction times and a longer cool down period, but overall, such a great experience for the first time there. Everyone was awsome and helpful, with the exception of one track official whom I overheard telling the other racer "don't worry, it's a f****ng cab".....I dominated that car btw :cool4:

Think I'm hooked, can't wait to go back. 20 bucks for 5hrs of constant fun? hell yeah.

I do want to go again, but I'm not sure I can get out of work early enough either day to make it up there in time. I sometimes get out early on Fridays, but with having all last week off, I doubt that'd happen this week.

If you do make it out there good luck, hope the tune makes a good difference.

Had a blast last nite. Met Beantown nice car!! We could not convince him to run!! Really need to bring a helmet with a Trilogy as you can end up running 12s. Maybe next time after he watched the action

Best run with the Driver mod my skinny buddy 14.85 all stock 3.55 gears Lidio 93 octane tune only
Car 930 ran against a limo which did 14.4

Best run with both of us add 160# further. Still beats previous best and one second faster than previous passenger run

Hey Frank, great job and it was good to meet someone on the board here, for my first track experience it was a blast. Definitely next time I will take a pass or two for sure, I can see the addicting qualities of this, you must have got in what, 10 runs or so ? My 13 yr old daughter thought it was a blast too, but when I said I may take a run she was all freaked out and all but grabbed my leg to hold me back, she was a riot but I think she can be convinced to watch.........
