I removed rear cats with flowmaster super 44 I did this for the deepest loudest sound but not has loud as you think. If your going to keep rear cats on then go with aero turbine for most sound with just muffs if you want slightly louder then look to magnaflow if you want louder then slightly go with flowmaster super 44. http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?v=yhI86ZK8xeE

Borla XS Pros are quiet and free up more power than the much louder (and droning) Flowmasters. The Borlas get loud when you nail the throttle.

Anything will drone when you remove cats

Just did mine. Flowmaster Delta 50's with the rear cats removed.
No drone with these :)

Had super 44's and loved them! :lovies:

Running aero turbines now and love em even more! :lovies2:

What type of sound are you looking for? Medium, loud, or obnoxious! :D

Louder than stock, not stupid loud. I saw a video of some aero turbines that I really liked, but im not really looking to do any other exhaust mods, like cat deletes or resonator delete. Will it make any difference just doing a muffler only swap?

BTW doom your MM is very sick!

Yes but only minimal difference in sound. If you change out the tips for res-delete tips they will bring the sound of the mufflers out. Mufflers is only a sound mod, no performance will be gained.

Here's mufflers with res-delete tips. Im running Cherry bomb vortex mufflers.

Now the same combo but with the rear cats deleted.

Now I said the hell with it and added long tube headers with high-flo cats. Same mufflers through factory H pipe.

I have Aero Turbine mufflers and love, use to have Flowmaster 40 series. I gave Doom that extra little push he needed to convert over to the loud side. As it was mentioned before changing the exhaust tips will make a noticeable difference in itself. The stock tips have resonators in them. If you are looking for just a little bit more exhaust note personally I'd change the tips to some non-resonated ones. Cone Engineering which is a vendor is here is setting up a group buy type of deal for 3.5" (stock size) with no resonator and also 4" tips. You could also find a metal fab shop to cut and gut the resonator out of the stock tips as well. Magnaflow and Jones Full Boar mufflers would be a good choice to add a good mild ugrade in the exhaust note. With the Magnaflows go with the 18" ones as the 14" ones will be louder.

Cool! I appreciate it fellas. They all sound great! Can I remove the resonator my self? or is welding involved?

Some other routes I've been curious about myself were to

A: remove rear cats and keep stock muffler (maybe or maybe not resonated tips)

B: Keep all cats and swap to a bullet-style "muffler", something like the SLP Loudmouth 1 or 2.

Neither should be too terribly loud but should still get a nice tone.

And honestly, if you have a continuous exhaust line to the tips and the tips come out at or slightly beyond the bumper, you shouldn't have any serious droning. With no cats and an off-brand muffler on my MM I could still easily hold conversation with windows up at WOT.

I went with Option A. High flow cats, rear cat delete, stock mufflers, and res-delete tips. A bit more rumble, but still quiet. Nice for cruising, and I can hear the radio or hold a conversation without turning it WAY up (or shouting) to overcome the exhaust noise, just the way I like it.

If I want to go the "hey, look at me!" route, I'll paint the car lime green... ;)

+1......

Installed mine about 2 yrs ago. Price was a little steep but I got the million mile warranty!

I would say they roar when I nail the throttle/gas pedal to the floor or better yet they scream.....:D
