Python 2-way alarm with auto start. No issues.

Don't know what bypass you're talking about.

just an FYI python and viper are both the same company DEI (directed electronics)

they actually have a new system which is controlled by your smart phone. might be something you guys want to look into. I have used their products in the past and i absolutelly love them! currently the previous owner installed audiovox system and although its nice, its nowhere near as nice as the DEI products.

do not cheap out on a remote start, it will give you issues you wouldnt believe you could have. also make sure to have it installed by someone that knows how to do it, skiping out in install could also give you MAJOR headaches down the road.

bypass module is designed to override the existing factory chipped system. basically if you can go to home depot and have a key made and it turns on the car without having it programmed, then you dont need a bypass. most likely on the marauders you will need a bypass module which means giving up or having another key made and programmed by the dealer. i would order the key online and just have the dealer program it without cutting it.

I have a DEI remote start. Very happy with it. Self-installed over 6 years ago... never had a problem with it.

I have one but the GUY I bought the Marauder from lost the control. So you can say I do not have a functional one.

I had a Ford remote starter installed, by Ford techs and thing quit within a year. They fixed it, that lasted 2 weeks. I gave up. I had an aftermarket installed on our LS8, two years, no problems.

If you can find any manufacture's info you can get a replacement(s) remote.

Probably best to go aftermarket. As more reliable plus better technology.

+1 on the Viper/DEI.

With the alarm package, can get remote start for additional charge. There is even a timer where it will shut down motor once time expires. I'm not sure if the stock remote start is set up/cable of doing this.

Also might be cheaper to go aftermarket! Just my opinion.

Viper/DEI is the way to go.

You will need a bypass module, I want to say the p/n is 555U? It's been so long since I stopped going alarm installs. The bypass module requires a spare programmed key, even the light gray valet key (if yours came with one) will work.

Birdman is on it!

For safety issues, the alarm/stereo shop that installed mines filed down the notches/edges/groves in my gray valet key before they installed it.

Just in case the perp breaks into your car, access the module with key, & you know what happens from there................good bye to your prized possession!!!!

I did the same thing to the keys if the customer was okay with that, if not I usually hid the module under the carpet of one of the front seats or somewhere jammed up underneath the dash against the firewall. Wasn't going to get it unless they tore the vehicle apart.

I cut off the metal part of the key.

You just need to have the bypass module now. No extra key required! You do need to have to valid keys for programing the Remote start system.

Great! I thought I heard something about that but wasn't sure if it actually panned out. Is that with DEI products now?

Yes it is.

Mine is from Ford (CODE ALARM) Best I have ever had, had it since I purchased the car in 04 with no problems. It is remote start and it does have the bypass module.
