I am in the process of discussing some custom coil springs for front shocks on my single adjustable Naake setup with a couple different companies. Pohl Spring Works and waiting to hear back from Eaton for a couple days.

I am not looking to start a group buy or anything without prior approval from the Mods but would like to gauge the possible interest by others in a set of custom springs for the Naake shocks. If I am overstepping at all here mods please let me know.

What I'm looking to have made is a set of custom coil springs that would have the 2.5" flat bottoms like the QA1 spring but with the same dimension pigtail end as the top of the stockers.

This way the stock spring cap and the Delrin spacer can both be used just like a stock spring. I hate how the Naake isn't centered or held in place by anything. The lower portion of the springs will sits just like the stock QA1s.

On the Eaton spring site it says the stock replacement springs for the Police/Taxi Vics is 330lbs and 355lbs for the 1.5" drop. I'm thinking around 375-400lbs on the spring rate at a 12" height. This may change depending on what the shop recommends but I do still want the springs tighter than stock just not as tight as they are now.

Pohl said that a single set would run me about $375-400 but would go a down a little as a more sets were made.

Basically I am looking at going this route finally because I can't take the crappy springs that came with my kit anymore. My 2 biggest issues with the QA1 springs on my kit is that one side had to be set higher than the other to level out the front end along with the coils bottoming out when driving hard.

I did copy Fordnut's stock spring adapter and while it will work with no mechanical issues I just can't take how its going to look once installed. The machined version I tried having made was just going to be too expensive and still wouldn't look right.

I am 100% determined to get this QA1 setup where I want it. I love the adjust-ability of the shocks and being able to set the height exactly where I want it. I just cannot get the front end tuned right with the QA1 10GBF450s and really feel like the springs are about 2" too short. 1 click either way makes it to bouncy or too stiff for me w/no happy place to be found.

I may be interested in a set if you get a good solution. I'm not looking to lower the front of the car, I would like to keep it @ stock height.

Might be interested. Stock height, firmer ride, no bottoming or coil bind.

Stock height shouldn't be an issue with the springs I'll be having made.

Currently my car is dropped about 1-1.25" and that's only because that was the maximum height I could set it at. I really only wanted to lower it about 1/2-3/4" but was limited with the QA1 springs.

Figure if the springs are spec'd for the stock height I'll have enough adjustment to lower it the little bit I want. I just want to be able to go over the giant speed humps around here without having to come to a near complete stop first.

I need to provide Mike at Pohl with the QA1 spring spec's from there websits and the diameter of the stock springs upper coil. Then I have to provide measurements of the stock spring compressed with the full front end weight resting on them.

Can anyone help me with this measurement along with a pic of the assembly installed in the car. If not I'll have to crawl under David's car this weekend to measure the stock setup.
