I have an 03MM with some serious paint issues and am trying to find the best wax/sealant for it. On my other cars I use Megs and Wolfgang almost exclusively, however Megs looks bad on this car and I am out of wolfgang to try.

I purchased some Turtle Wax blkbox after the good reviews I read, however have been less than satisfied in many aspects. My 03 has the wonderful bad cracking paint that Mercury so lovingly gave many of us, so many waxes seem to leave white wax residue in the cracks...leading me to think I need a color based wax? The turtle wax does leave those cracks blk, however it streaks like a mofo. Even just the detailer spray is hard to get not to streak. I've been detailing cars for a while and this stuff is just rough to get right. Tried it following all the steps, in the sun, out of the sun, cool, hot, doesn't matter. Always streaks. Also doesn't last long at all before having to be reapplied.

I see many mention croftgate and dodo juice and know a few favorites from Autopia...but all that changes with these cracks in the paint. I also have etching on the roof in two spots from bird cr@p...how the h3ll did I not see all this when I bought it?! Oh yeah and the previous owner appeared to use an SS pad or something on the hood in a few spots to remove bird crap I would bet...so I have some scratches their that the PC did nothing to remove.

Anyways just trying to find out from other crack paint owners if there are better options than the turtle wax??

Thanks

Armour All has a new wax in an Orange bottle that they say is "buttery smooth". The gel is orange and has no cleaning agents in it. Just wax. I only have a few of the cracks left on my front fenders since everything else has been fixed. For me, it hid the white in the cracks and lasts a long time. It really did make them much less noticeable. Try it.

Dodo Juice Purple Haze is for black and dark colored paints. I've used it on my Ebony black 08 Taurus with great results.

I use the rountine of wash, clay bay, wash again, wax, polish and then seal.

I get all my good stuff from here http://www.autogeek.net/?gclid=CNaBosrnqasCFec65QodGkf C3A

This is a sealant I will be trying next after seeing before and after on a friend's car.

I just went to the website, and I really want to try this stuff! It looks pretty good. Easy application. (Not to mention watching "Hooty McBoob" in the little video, would have sold me right there anyway :D).
