Hey all, how you doing, I joined the site about 2 weeks ago. I've been reading from this site on marauders from this site the last year or two, and finally decided to join. I've loved the marauder ever since I saw one drive buy me in the eight grade, and now I'm finally able to buy one.
I have some question though. A man is selling a marauder with no engine in the area, wanted to know what is a reasonable price for the car without the engine (he's asking for 6000). I have an offer for a black marauder with about 90 thousand miles for $9500.
My question is what would some of you guys pay for a marauder with no engine and or should I just take the deal on the other offer drive home happily?
Thanks in advance, hope to meet some great people on this site.

You know the answer... :D Unless you have the skills, know someone who does, have the money for an engine and labor, blah, blah, blah... So post up the info on both cars and VIN numbers. We'll help you out!

$6000 for a car with no engine is a bit steep unless its really clean and low mileage on the body. They are selling pretty cheap right now so I would find a clean running car and be happy with it.

Personally I'd go with the one that has a engine and is running.

I saw the car - South Philly - Right?
It looked clean but I would totally "Low Ball" him - Start at $2500 - What's he gonna to without an engine (Bring friends to South Philly)?

Talk to wickedmerc about motors.
Also, I know that Jasper's produces 32V 4.6L.
You should be good.
PM me if you want to check it out.

Welcome to the site!!
I got a great deal on a long-block earlier this year. That company still has motors. But, with no motor to start with, you'd then have to come up with all the other accessories to complete a long-block (intake, throttle body, alternator, etc....a lot of stuff). That will get expensive, especially if you're not doing the work.
My best advice and :twocents: is to be patient! I'm sure you're excited and can't wait to get your hands on a Marauder. As Blackened300a said, they're selling pretty cheap now and there's a lot out there. Do your homework, check around. You may need to travel a little (or even have 1 shipped...it's not THAT expensive) to get a better deal. Cars around metro areas tend to be a little more expensive.
Be patient young grasshopper and good luck with your search. :coolman:

A quick look around found this:
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp?tracktype=usedcc&csDlId=&csDgId=&listingId=73198561&listingRecNum=45&criteria=sf1Dir%3DASC%26mkId%3 D20074%26stkTyp%3DU%26mdId%3D2 1449%26rd%3D100000%26crSrtFlds %3DstkTypId-feedSegId-mkId-mdId%26zc%3D07747%26rn%3D0%26P Mmt%3D1-1-0%26stkTypId%3D28881%26sf2Dir% 3DDESC%26sf1Nm%3Dlocation%26sf 2Nm%3Dprice%26isDealerGrouping %3Dfalse%26rpp%3D50%26feedSegI d%3D28705&aff=aybsema
I know nothing about it beyond what's in his ad. For that price, I'd be careful. That's a little low. Do your homework. Run the VIN against CarFax and the Oasis report (contact RoyLPita with VIN), contact the seller. Yes it's in Texas but this site has a lot of members who are very eager to help a fellow member. Maybe someone is close to this car and can check it out for you. For the listed price and few hundred bucks in shipping, you may be in business.
Then there's this 1 right near me in NJ:
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp?tracktype=usedcc&csDlId=&csDgId=&listingId=70394256&listingRecNum=14&criteria=sf1Dir%3DASC%26mkId%3 D20074%26stkTyp%3DU%26mdId%3D2 1449%26rd%3D100000%26crSrtFlds %3DstkTypId-feedSegId-mkId-mdId%26zc%3D07747%26rn%3D0%26P Mmt%3D1-1-0%26stkTypId%3D28881%26sf2Dir% 3DASC%26sf1Nm%3Dprice%26sf2Nm% 3Dlocation%26isDealerGrouping% 3Dfalse%26rpp%3D50%26feedSegId %3D28705&aff=aybsema
I could go check it out for you if you'd like (look it over, take more pics, take a video of start-up/running, etc...). Let me know.
