After hours on the Mercury site and god knows how many calls and emails to
numerous dealers, it turns out that a fellow member (M Rush
of Rush L/M...thanks again!) was a great enough guy to give me the numbers of the only remaining dealers with new leftover blues in the nation. Problem is theyre on the west coast, havent gotten their final $s including transportation costs but need some input based on your experiences with dealers...is it a good idea to get from so far and without first seeing the vehicle and dependig only on good faith? Do I sound desperate? lol

Ask for help---if you can reveal the dealer's name, one of our West Coast members may be able to help you---"MartyO" has had his car transported from NY to TX and back. Good Luck, Maury

I for one, would be happy to inspect a car for you if the dealer were reasonably local to me. I suspect there would be one of us close enough to check it out for you.

I know a group of kiddies on another auto web site who have just gotten their driver's licenses....... and they would be willing to fly out, inspect the car and drive it back to the east coast for you. They drool themselves to sleep dreaming about Marauders every night. :)

Your best bet is let US know where the cars are at. There are alot of us spread out across the U.S.A. One of us could inspect the vehicle, and advise you as such.

The particular color you seek is getting hard to locate, use us, that's what we're here for.....

Now where is this car?

Sheriff, you are losing reputation points quickly!
You can't be serious? If you are, I think it's time to refresh the 'ignore list', because ignorant replies like these don't need to be seen.

I agree, Barry... time to move on, as I mentioned in another thread. We're on MercuryMarauder.net, not "another site".

And I couldn't agree more guys!!!

Back to the biz at hand...I'd say there isn't an active member here who would not go out and thoroughly check out a car for you...and you'd know it's right.
We've got folks in Southern and Northern Cali here...where's the car, Red?

You guys are awesome, this site is awesome, there are actually 2 locations, one in Redland and the other in Taleri (not 100% on the spellings) As of this afternoon, havent heard back from either regarding price. As soon as I find out if its feasable, I will post the info...thanks again to all, really nice to see such decent folks out there ("Sheriff" excluded of course lol)...I would gladly do the same if the situation arose.

And yes, there are some honest dealers out there. When I got my first one, I drove over 800 miles to the Miami area in a rental car. Turned in the rental and picked up the MM for an 800 mile test ride back home. Haven't been sorry and can never say enough good things about Mr DeBlasio at Delray Lincoln Mercury in Delray Beach, Fla.

I live in disgraceful Massachusetts. I bought a car from a dealer in Indianapolis, IN which was close to Kenny Brown's operation. Since both Kenny Brown and the dealer had worked together, it worked out well. I did not see the car until after Kenny Brown had done the conversion.

It worked well for me, but there can be problems. For example, David Frey of Kenny Brown had noticed a paint problem on one of my car's doors. He brought the car back to the dealer and had it fixed. David was very careful in checking my car after he brought the car from the dealer to his place.

Anyone would feel proud to deal with Kenny Brown and his employees. I have had to call them for help and education on a number of occasions with good results.

Thank you again Kenny Brown.

IMO you will get better service from the selling dealer. Most dealers like to take care of their own and you can't blame them.

I agree that they may want to give better service to customer who buy from them, but sometimes they're not capable. That has been my experience anyway. So the MM I bought 800 miles away is serviced at a dealer 200 miles away, as is the one I bought 10 miles away.

71Red,

As per your start of - and subsequent posts to - this thread, what ended up happening on your national search for a remaining new 2003 blue MM? Did you end up indeed finding a car? If so, did you buy it? If so, what do you so far think of it? Details.....we want details!!!

Happy driving!

I had a great experiance buying site unseen. I was looking for an 03 Silver back in November and found two, one in Portsmouth, NH, and the other in Skokie, IL. Did not know about MM.net then. Made my deal, flew up from Atlanta with the wife on a Friday night. Pick up the car Saturday morning. The deal went down great, a couple of minor burps in the preparation of the car. Bottom line It was a great experiance and I will do it again. I take it to the local Ford dealership for my warranty work.

Most dealerships are very happy tp get any warranty work because it pays well.

The Lincoln Mercury dealer here is a bunch of snobs when it comes to dealing with the Marauder. They didn't want to sell one. The 1000 mi trip to the Chicago area was a pleasure.

HEY! I resemble that remark! If it's in the south Pudget sound area, I would be happy to help.
