Jim,
I did once on the old Land Cruiser. The tires turned hard, which made them last for well over 80K. Because it was a truck, I couldn't drive it aggressively, but the tire guy told me that had I tried to do that on a car the tires would've come apart (literally, shredded).
Does that help?
My tires dont stay on the car long enough to get dry rot!
About to have my 2nd set mounted this year! And I haven't even put 3K miles on the car yet!

Not a Marauder tire but I've had issues with others.
If the car sits or extendd periods of time without driving, that can be cause, also, some tire dressings can accelerate rubber degredation due to exposure to UV rays.

Yes Mark! My tires were installed in 2005. DOT stamp reveal 2002 date of manurfacture. Only have 29K on the tires in over 6 years. Only the second set in 9 years. Factory tires lasted till almost 37K so no complants. My side walls are cracked:mad: Marauder now has 59K on the clock.

Down here I have seen tires last about 2 years before dry rot shows. I have a set of BFG Scorcher tires that are 9 years of age. They hold air but are just for show nowadays.
On my MM, the tires do not last long enough with the amount of driving that I do.

Yeah that pretty much sums it up.. Marauder has sat for extended times this year. Since MV-VIII I only put 1500 miles on the clock. So I shot my self in the foot...:help::shake:

I don't think I've ever had tires on a car long enough for them to dry rot. I also do use a silicone base spray when dressing the tires which has been proven to help against tires dry rotting especially if the car is exposed to the sun a lot (like not being an in garage)

Yup, looks that way.
Give Bodyman a holler, I think he had a used set of OEM tires in good shape f/s.

I think I have some light dry rot on the side of my tires. Supposedly they are the factory tires (though I don't believe that, have lasted too long). The car sat pretty much undriven for a few months which I think caused some of the problems. My front passenger tire has to be refilled once a week. The sides of the tires have little cracks in them. I know if I try to put dressing on them it just soaks all into the cracks and drys up again...so I've pretty much stopped even putting dressing on them.

"Truck" tires, as in SUV?
Nittos, Generals, Kuhmos are all considered high performance SUV tires and will give you good performance on your car. (Plus decent prices compared to OEM.)

Time to replace them Jimbo. A little cracking isn't the end of the world but is a good indicator you need to put new tires on the list.:)
Mine do not last long enough to dryrot. The fronts get chewed up and rounded off from driving it like a two-door sports car, the backs get demolished from burnouts and sliding around like it is a two-door sports car. Except I don't actually do those things in my two-door sports car, weird.

Get the carfixer alignment done. I went through 2-3 pairs of front tires that still had tread like they were brand new but the insides were shot. Since my alignment it's wearing even across.

My Silver MM I bought 2 years ago had dry rotted front tires.
Sadly when I purchased the Vehicle via Ebay the owner told me front and rears were new. About 100 miles from his home I heard a thunk then the car was shaking. Part of the tires FLEW OFF and the tires were separating. The car had 45k when this happened.
When I called the guy back he told me to pound sand. I hope that a-hole gets ran over by a truck.

I have that done and now the insides AND the outsides are worn out and the middles are minty fresh.
