View Full Version : Wanted To Buy Possible trade for engine

Looking to acquire complete Marauder engine or Cobra short block. The trade is my Gibson Flying V guitar.

If you made it this far here are the details:

Guitar is a 2002 1967 Gibson Custom Shop Flying V.

It was sold to me from Marky Ramone of The Ramones. He got it from Gibson for making into the Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame as a gift. It was meant to go to the band, but he took it. It sat for a year and he sold it to me after a year. The guitar has only six numbers on the neck which proves it was never sold. It was never a guitar sold to the public. You can contact Gibson to confirm this, but because I am not a dealer they will not send me the paperwork.

I have pictures to prove it was Markys. It has a signed pickguard that has the signature worn off, but has a second that has a signature and that pick guard is still in the wrapper. Hardshell case included.

This is probably the only thing I would ever see as an investment.

Reason for selling is I do not play it anymore and see it as a waste of a great guitar. Plus my relationship with Marky Ramone has changed so I want this guitar out of my life.

Also open to offers, but bottom line is I want an engine. Let me know what you have.

Thanks man. It was a loved possession, but the car is now more important.

Sorry to hear you'll have to part with this guitar Dom.
I have sold guitars in the past, it is never easy.

I already have a custom shop flying V, but it is an early 80s model, not a newer one.
I love the body style, but the whole Ramones thing ruins it for me.

Better off to sell it to a Ramones fan for more money. In fact, the fact that any member of the Ramones had anything to do with it makes it less valuable to me.

You are obviously a bigger fan of them than I am.
But I can tell you are a fan of the Gibson Flying V and that is a great axe right there.
And it should fetch a high price.

Please just make sure that if you trade it for a motor, that the motor is worth it.
Don't get burned on a sweet guitar like that.

So after you dig/drill for testing and whatnot, do you back fill the holes or just leave them?
