Are SW headers available with a bolt on flange to the mid-pipe like the KOOKS are. Im looking into headers but need a set that can be completely bolted on in my driveway and the SWs look like they need to be welded. I understand that the SW are generally easier to install, but if the backs aren't direct bolt-on then its a deal breaker. Guidance please.

No welding required to install the SW. The EGR tube may need to be heated to make it mate up and the steering shaft may need to be shaved slightly, but otherwise they are not too bad to install.

Im just wondering because the picture makes it seem as though it just comes to an end. Is the more hardware that comes with the headers than whats shown in the picture? How do these actually hook up to the rest of the exhaust?

See attached. Right from the SW website. They say it bolts up to the factory mid-pipe flange.

There would be a flange with 2 studs, the ends have the ball and the mating flange already on the header in the pics. The stainless works has a collector that would clamp on to the end.

You got me! This morning i stole your Pass side header from your car. Then i snuck into your house and stole a big chunk of your carpet to sit them on. And im black, so that's my reflection you see..not yours.

This is a different setup than the above pic. The one i posted is MAUHDR, the one you posted is MAUCAT. I plan on useing my existing cats.

The SW kit with cats uses a hi-flo cat setup that clamps to the end of the header. You'll have to find a collector with a flange on it to bolt up to your setup, but if you use the stock cats, they will be too far forward as SW is a true long tube setup and are longer then the KOOKS which are more of a mid-length setup.

i wish i could afford a decent set of headers...

Let's bottom line this. Can he buy the SW headers and bolt them straight up to his stock system w/o modifying anything else?

So...according to this, only KOOKS is a true "plug-n-play" replacement for the stock manifold. SW requires slight modification or extra hardware unless you go with their catted setup because it is a true LT. Am i understanding this correctly?

No you will need to modify your stock exhaust regardless if it Kooks or SW. Neither header is a direct bolt in that can be installed without modification to your stock pipes.

If you go with the Kooks you will still need the 2.5" 3 bolt collector flange or ball flange welded onto your exhaust in order to mate with whatever end you choose on the headers.

If you want a fully bolt in kit you would need to big the entire SW setup that includes everything from headers back to tailpipes.

I personally would just remove you factory mid pipes and install the headers, then run open headers to closest exhaust shop to have them weld up your pieces.

All correct! We don't make a header that will replace just the factory manifold. We do make headers with cats or off-road leads that will connect to the factory exhaust, all long tube 4-1 design!
