I'm away for vacation most of October and when I get back the snow will probably be flying, so as of Oct 1st the insurance is off my Marauder (except fire and theft, of course).
Today was my last day of driving the Marauder before the winter. It was a beautiful day, 82 degrees outside, perfect for a drive. The latest tweaks to the tune worked perfectly, I took her for a wash at lunch, spun more rubber off the rears, and got it up to 120 on the way home before finally parking it for the winter.
It was a good summer and I made great progress on the car!
- Upgraded from 3.6" to 3.3" pulley on my Vortech V-2
- Replaced the XCal1 that came with the car with an XCal3 from Dennis
- Installed new 4:10 gear with Ford Racing bearing kit
- Got the Pro Racer software in June. The stock SCT blown Marauder tune REALLY woke the car up and now I could address the hard shifts that I bought the car with
- Added a BAP to keep up with the new air from the pulley upgrade
- The new Ford Racing pinion bearing went after two months. Had the bearings changed AGAIN, this time with SKF. I was not happy about paying for this labor twice. It's been great again since.
So my winter plans are to install a stereo that I had in high school. To power it I'll be running 0-guage wire to the trunk, installing a secondary battery and a couple 1-farad caps, all of which will also help the BAP and fuel situation! There are three Rockford Fosgate amps, two 12" dual-voice-coil subs, door and rear dash speakers, and 8-guage braided speaker wire throughout. Pics will prove it happened for sailors like CBT. Oh and I have to do the Centrifugal Blower PCV Mod and shop for some new rear tires.
I also have a few more Pro Racer "guides" to post regarding knock sensors, spark advance, and LWFM tables. And analyzing/interpreting LiveLink data.
Enjoy your wheels for me guys, I'm grounded now until April. :(
