I am taking the T bolt Tribute car this Saturday. Need to check out the new clutch to see if it is set correct. Who wants to go? The weather says low 70s and sunny so it should be a good day. I will arrive about 11. :)

The last time I went we broke the ring and pinion, Twisted the yoke on the driveshaft and the input shaft on the transmission twisted. Not a good day!!!!!! It not good when the rear end is locked up and you launch the car at 5K!!!!!!! We put a Jericho 4 speed in her and a new drive shaft. She also has a new sintered iron clutch which is designed to slip till it heats up. This should help take some of the shock off the drive line. We also put the 4.30 gears back in as it did not like the change to the 4.10 gears. The car had slowed down 2 tenths with the 4.10s in her. The Jericho transmission should make shifting a lot easier plus it is heavier duty than the old top loader. The car should power shift now.:burnout:

:banana2:Don't need to break parts as Linda has already informed me about that. As far as records go if the clutch is rght I think I should set a new one! The tranny should be good for some plus it shifts way faster than the old one. Just need to get her moving with the clutch now and power shift with out it. If it all works right they will be having a talk with me about a roll bar!:burn::burn: :burnout::banana2:

Nice, make sure you have someone take some videos. I want to see how that t-bolt launches.

Here you go this was from SSHS a couple of years ago. It won Best of Show that year in the car show. Ask Paul Casey how it launches as he drove it after beating me in a race. The race was based on reaction time. I cut a .04 light and he had a 02! The best the car has tun is 11.64 using MT Street ETs. I am pretty sure this was the race with Paul and the track was cold.

Darn John!....Didn't know about the mechanical carnage.

Big FEs at 5,000 rpm do bad things to gears and clutches.

Good luck this weekend!

BTW: The Cobra's transmission and rear survive because we installed a set of P295 BF Goodrich rubber fuses!

The ring gear broke coming out of the water box Joe. The car staged and it locked up but no one knew. The rest is history!
