Hello friends!

I have an issue, which i think i know the answer to... But hey, instead of ripping things apart... let me ask you friendly people first.

Chapter 1..... LOL!

I can drive down the road... highway and whatever.... when i put my car in neutral, to then put in in reverse... i noticed my idle is WAYY HIGH! around 1800 RPM... i turned the car off, and restarted it.... and it was back to normal.

So i dont think its a vacuum leak, my thinking is it is the idle (solenoid?) that has the valve which regulates the idle...

Maybe if i remove the solenoid and throw some throttle body cleaner in there.... and see how that works out?

Opinions?

Clean your iac, and your maf , i had the same problem, that should fix it if your lucky, if not you may have to replace the iac.

May have a cracked IAC gasket, they are very fragile.

Otherwise ^^^what he said^^^.

Thanks man, I will order a gasket for the hell of it.....was fragile indeed. May prevent a future issue... but I started her up, and with the clean up, is running at a lower RPM... not by much....70RPM lower.... got 120+ K miles and never intend to sell!!

+1, mine was cracked and caused hard starts and the idle was a little eratic. I siliconed it up to seal and it fixed all my issues.
