Hey guys I got some questions
I seen these heads for sale on craigslist and im going to take a look at 'em..
http://norfolk.craigslist.org/pts/2566882967.html

From the pics here can you guys see any issues? What do I need to look for and ask? I want to take them to a shop and have them flow tested but is it even worth the money to do that? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I already have some Cobra Cams, and 4:10 gears...im staying N/A (for now) until I finish paying my car off ( I HATE car notes haha) ...figure this would give me a nice little bump in HP ...if these are cool im a find me a ported upper & lower intake and get a tune and get my car right by spring!!

"If desired, new cams, lash adjusters and finger followers can be included"

Does this mean no, or used, cams, lash adjusters and followers are with it for that price? The pic with the "after" with blue dykem is not fully port matched. I can't see the valves. Are the valves new and included. I can't see the head chamber. Check into the other details. The "port matching" he, or someone else did, isn't a big deal, good or bad.

Thanks RacerX!! Do need to get the lash adjusters as well? I will ask about the valves and ask for some more pics to!

Just called
he said that
- It comes with brand new valves and they are included as is everything else
- There 'gasket matched" and said they are not fully ported...he also said these heads are hard to be improved upon (he it can be done but the heads are pretty good from the jump) Said the gains are more so on the exhaust side
- He did the port work himself

If I jump on these should I get the heads fully ported? My Maruader is a daily driver and wont ever see a track...just trying to give my girl some more uhmm...balls (pause.....) hahaha Thanks for the advice guys!

I'm sure that others that are more knowledgeable than me will chime in, but I think that you will be better off putting those $ towards a supercharger fund.
Have you done the basic 3 step yet, Tune, CAI and 4:10?

I was going to, but, I hate car notes...so im putting that 3 to 4 grand into paying the rest of my car off...Then I can stack my bread and have some real mod money to play with!

I already got a JLT Intake...it's the only thing installed on the car...
My gears are sitting under my art table at the house (my wife loves them there :D)
Im a get the tune probably in a month or so...Holidays and b-days are stacked like a D-Line around this time of year for me...so im saving for it as well...

Im not in a rush and i'm one of those "like to do everything around the same time" type of people...

Why are you interested in these heads? Is there something wrong with yours? You won't see any gains from these N/A. If yours are old , worn or something is wrong, it's a good deal. If you're looking to gain HP, it's not to be found here. You'd be better off getting the tune and CAI like Poppa said. You'll be MUCH happier with the new life found from those than anything in the heads.

^^^^ What he said. ^^^^^

Get a tune, get the gears installed, then start saving $ for a supercharger.

Oh really? Now that I did not know! That's a definite game changer there then. :alone:....Oh well guess I'll get the tune and see if I can find a ported intake now then! Im definitely not trying to waste any money on a "needless" mod.

They don't look like 03/04 heads to me.. Exhaust port is oval like 99-01 Cobra's (Never made a 02 Cobra). 03/04's are more rectangular with rounded corners.
