Well I found a solution that will work for me:)
Used tires that way if they rot I not out of pocket a ton of money:)
Found a set of Toyo proxey 255/55/18 for the back for 123. each only $35 to ship to the house:)
Like I said the car sits and this way dry rot won't be a major issue at this price.
Thanks Derek! (Whitman40) They have a store in Allentown, Pa and a web site I will not post a link to because they are not a vendor here and don't want to step on Tire Rack's toes becasue they do help the site:up:
Also a special thanks to Doom for his offer to help me out:up: Friends like these two don't happen often in life, I am blessed! Thanks guys:up:

Soooooo, with all that extra pocket money you got by picking up those tires, does that mean you're buying Round #1?
Just askin.... :drink:
But how old are those used tires, it sounds to me like you may be worse off. Get tires that are already 2-3 years old and you'll have dry rotted tires that much sooner. There are date codes on all DOT approved tires and the tire rack website has instructions on how to decipher them.

Got the same issues as you Jimbo. Will be getting some Continental Extreme Contact DWS' over the Winter. TireRack survey has them rated second only to some Michelins that don't come in the sises needed.
Anyone have experience with the above?
See you next week Jimbo.:)

The BFG's on the marauder are almost 10 years old and have a lot of tread left, so if these tires are 2-3 years old then I be in good shape:)
The tires on my '95 F-150 lasted almost 17 years! I bought it when it was 12 years with 50K on it and just replaced the tires 3 months ago, dry rot again but from age not sitting.
AS for deciphering the codes that is not an issue.

By the time tires get to be 6 or so years old they are dry and do not come anywhere near providing the traction that they once did particularly in the wet.
Even Toyota says in their owners manuals that once the tires get 6 years old they should be replaced even if they have lots of tread left.
So I'd suggest the opposite buy new tires and sell them to someone else when they get 3 years or so old.
