Going back out I-66 to I-81 is the long way. That's 183 miles and 3 hours-11 minutes to Harrisburg.
You should consider taking 15N to Frederick and then north. That way is 127 miles and 2 hours-38 minutes. About 56 miles shorter and 33 minutes faster.
Or take I-66 to I-495 to I-270 to 15N. That way is 135 miles and 2 hours-46 minutes. About 48 miles shorter and 25 minutes faster.
I'm about 15 miles east of Manassas and plan on taking the I-270 route leaving my house at about 11:00 AM. That oughta put me in Frederick, MD between 12:15-12:30 PM. Should put me at the hotel by 2:00 PM. Considered the I-66 to I-81 briefly but quickly figured out that you have to head west about 50 miles before heading north. Mine is almost a straight shot.

We're leaving tomorrow a.m., driving up into WV, spending three days there and in west central PA, and then we'll head on over to Hershey on Tuesday evening. Plan to spend Wednesday in Lancaster staring at Amish people, will be back to the hotel later in the afternoon.

Hey Charlie, would you know for this one above^^^^^, when entering 495 do I head "north", inner or outer --what to look for?--Will there likely be a I-270 sign at some point there??? Thanks

From I-66 east you will take Exit 64B to I-495 North toward Baltimore and Silver Spring. This will put you on the Inner Loop for about 8-10 miles. Stay left at the I-495/I-270 split to head north toward Frederick/Germantown and Rockville.

We're going to drive thru Tuesday night into Wednesday. If I know what time you are planning to depart, we could plan to meet on the road.

Just don't plan to get on I-66 Eastbound early with all the commuter traffic headed toward DC. Most of it should be gone by 10:00 AM.

Hmmm, I'll keep this mind when going to SC in the future. Although I prefer interstates.

Yeah, weird.
Wonder how old his GPS is?
Here are Google directions if you're coming up on I-81 from the South:
Slight right onto US-322 E (signs for I-83 S/Hershey York)
Continue onto I-83 S
Take exit 48 for Union Deposit Rd
Turn left onto Union Deposit Rd,
(go about 1/2 mile)
Turn right onto E Park Dr. Destination will be on the right

Maybe just try "800 Park Drive" ... it may not like the "E" or the "East".
A work around may be that when you get "close" .... click on "Points of Interest (POI)" then "Lodging" and see if you can find the hotel in the listing that comes up.
Good luck Tom.
