on my way home today the starter turned over several times while driving.in the driveway from off all i have to do is turn the key slightly forward(not starter position and it starts. and then the starter keeps going.Any suggestions?at this point I dont even want to touch it until I have a better idea of whats going on

Sounds like something with the switch but whatever it is it could burn out your starter

There is a ignition switch under the steering column, get a test light and check it out. Look for a white box with lots of wires going to it.

i have cleaned all the terminals on the starter and battery while i had the stuff out.
took the underdash piece off ann the column , evrything is working the way it should and it hasn't tried to a start when it's not supposed to or while driving.I guess the next time it does it it of to the stealership

Also check the solenoid on the starter.

thanks guys, it was the solenoid.I had the starter rebuilt for 90 bucks.
no more worrys!
