I tried to do a search but didn't find what sounded like an answer.
I did the Jmod, put it back together and started it up while it's still on the stands, shifted it into gear and let it shift, then I noticed my O/D light flashes.
Also if I hit the O/D switch it flashes.
What did I do wrong?

can you pull the code?

Hook up you xcal and check for codes. That's weird, I have done several j-mods and that has never happened to me.

I don't have a code reader or an Xcal

Try taking it off the stands...and take it for a spin...it might be the tires spinning at different speeds...

Aloha

I dont think the tires would spin at a different speed but try it and see. Also invest on a xcal, you won't regret it. Try disconnecting the battery for a while.

Sounds like the black connector is not fully seated on one of the sensors.

That makes sense check all you connections on the tranny wiring harness.

That's waht I was thinking too.
Back off with the pan today.

I just re-read the instructions posted here by Marauderer on crown vic . net
http://www.crownvic.net/tech/4R70Wnotes.pdf
It mentions 4-5 things in the bottom of the pan when you drop it. the only thing in my pan was the Yellow plug.
I hate last minute scrambles!

That's not always the case. The yellow plunger being all there was is just fine. Do like Mcgyver said and check the black plastic harness and use dielectric grease on all four connections.

Seems like the plastic harness was the culprit.
I cleaned them with brakleen and used dielectric 1st time around.
this time i just disconnected it, checked for bent pins etc.
i didn't see anything wrong so i reconnected it, put it all back together and it seems fine.
I can't drive it yet but I put it in gear and turned O/D on and off and the light didn't flash.
Hopefully I will get it off of the stands later today, unfortunately I don't have the intercooler in service yet so it will be a SLOW drive!

The problem may have actually been from the dielectric grease, It's not a conductor, and most likely gave you a bad connection between the pins if you will.. Have seen issues like this on the job before. Dielectric can help as much as it can hurt.

I wondered about the dielectric, I was sparing with it but when I pulled the connectors off there were 2 spots that could have been a little heavy.
That was the only step in the Jmod instructions I was a little sketched out about.

I have lathered it very well on several jmods without issues. I think you might have had a bad connection earlier.
