For about a week now my temperature goes up to hot at times for only a minute tops then goes back down to normal range. Anyone else ever had that happen it happens daily almost everytime i drive.

If you see that needle move in to hot territory, it's getting hotter than you think and you DO have air in the system. (I think it hits 230 deg when it starts moving to hot) See burping procedures.

could i just remove the thermostat instead of replace it?

and i searched burping and a crap ton of pages are there its not a sticky either what exactly is the procedure id have to assume something with opening the coolant box or something while running to let air out but thats just a guess

You never want to run without a thermostat in a modern engine. The computer monitors everything and at the very least you'll get poor gas mileage.

k thats what i was wondering i had a 73 mecury cougar before this and thats all i did but i was wondering if it was gonna be a prob with the new technology.

sweet guys thanks ill be giving it a try tomarrow as well as getting a thermostat.
