100,000 mi and ive been having some air susp woes. My pump was dying, i could tell by the laboring sound of it so after it pumpd up one last time i shut the switch off in the trunk to keep the air in the system. Ordered a repl pump from arnott ind and the susp stayd inflated till the pump arrived. All was well for a few months until i noticed a poor ride and my susp light came on. I thought the springs were fine since it held air the last time, but arnott gave me a real hard time replacing the pump under warranty bcause they claimed my bags were no good. Got the rebuilt pump after much back and forth, and about a month later noticed serious sag every morn. on my driver side. Needless to say the pump is now dead again and Im pretty sure my driver side air spring is shot. Just a few questions. Are the grand marq air springs on the arnott indust site the same repl as our cars? http://www.arnottindustries.com/part_MERCURY_Air_Suspension_Pa rts_yid3_pid20.html

Also, from someone whose done this, whats the bascic procedure?
Sorry for the long explantion, any help is much appreciated. thanks:bows:

Unfortunately, the air bags from a GM are not the same rating. I believe the springs in the Marauder are the ones from the Town Car Limo, but I'm not 100% on that.

You can use the GM ones, but the ride will not be as firm and you should replace both sides or handling will suffer.

Actually replacing the air bags is relatively easy, if you can use ordinary hand tools. There's nothing tricky about it. I'm at MV9 and my service manual is at home or I would give you more details, but I think there's a writeup somewhere on here...

Do you know the best place to get the right ones? Would they be avail at advanced or autozone? I tried searching for a writeup and didn't come up with much. Im sure its not too bad, I havent crawled under there and looked yet. Thanks for your input.

Go to www.Arnottindustries.com They have the manuals with instructions and pictures available for download. The also sell high quality bags. Haven't used them on a Marauder but have used their Mark VIII and Continental bags and struts with good results.
