I'd recommend a minimum of 0 if not 00 for that long of a run.

For every so many feet there is what they call voltage drop. That is why larger wire is used.

Short story: I needed to relocate the battery for the pony-motor in my work truck (cherry-picker). I don't remember the gauge (it was a long time ago) but someone told me to use welding cable...I did and found it was MUCH more flexible than standard stranded copper and made the job a lot easier.
