Louisville 2012 'Feeler' Thread - April 13-15, 2012

While MV9 has passed, and certainly will not be forgotten, I was told by more than one person to post up about Louisville for 2012.

Although I have kicked ideas around for the 7th Annual Louisville Meet, nothing has been placed on paper as of late, but can say that the theme will involve Bourbon.

The Bourbon theme happens every-other year and 2012 is one of those years.

A quick look-see at the 2012 calendar yields the following possible dates:

-March 15th - March 18th

-March 29th - April 1st - (First pick)

-April 19th - April 22nd

Local events plus Holidays prevent me from choosing the following weekends:

March 22nd - March 25th - Mid-America Trucking Show
April 5th - April 8th - Easter Sunday
April 12th - April 15th - Thunder Over Louisville?

Note: with the exception of Easter Sunday, the other weekends make it almost impossible to secure hotel accomodations, and the cost for hotel rooms sky-rocket on those weekends.

Just a little 'nudge' for you folks that plan on or are thinking about making it to Louisville next year.

It was a 'quick and dirty' (TWSS) estimate on the dates, and according to the Thunder website -> http://thunderoverlouisville.org/frequently-asked-questions.html it happens next year on the 21st of April.

I am pulling every string I can to attend next year--I spent 3 years attending U of L in the 40's--into USAF--back for 2 more 1n 50s---sure would be fun to visit the old haunts ;) and see the few of my old friends that have survived. But best of all, I'll get to see some old MM owners and meet you "noobies" :D:beer:. Our home is for sale and we are moving into a very nice retirement cottage 2 miles from our home. Ginny is having "growing old" problems and I think the move will be good for her. Hope this makes it possible for me to get away for 5 days. I haven't been to a big MM get-to-gather since MV III and am suffering from a bad case of "Marauder Withdrawal"--worse than quitting cold-turkey . Will keep posting as things develop here . Hopefully, Maury:burnout:

He elso added that even though it is the weekend before Thunder Over Louisville, he would take care of us first.

I am 98% certain that the 7th Annual Louisville Meet will happen on Friday April 13th, Saturday the 14th and Sunday the 15th of 2012.

As usual, most folks arrive on Thursday to get settled in for Friday and Saturday's events, with departure on Sunday morning.

Even though I have NO idea of what we will be doing,...

I am 98% certain that the 7th Annual Louisville Meet will happen on Friday April 13th, Saturday the 14th and Sunday the 15th of 2012.

As usual, most folks arrive on Thursday to get settled in for Friday and Saturday's events, with departure on Sunday morning.

Mark it on the calendar Guys and Gals!
