View Full Version : HID Foglight Upgrade Offering

fastblackmerc

Offering a plug-n-play HID upgrade for your foglights.

I will upgrade to H10 HID bulbs in your choice of temperature and all the wiring so it will be a plg-n-play kit. Return shipping is included to the CONUS. Shipping to Canada, Alaska, Hawaii will be higher.

All you will have to do is remove your foglights. If you know which side of the screwdriver to use should take you about 30 minutes.

Two options:

1- Send me your foglights and wiring - $75.00

2 - I acquire new foglights for you, you send me the wiring harnesses - $75.00 + the cost of the new foglights- currently between $90.00 - $125.00 (per pair)

I use a quality HID kit w/ small digital ballasts, solder all connections, nylon zip ties and detailed instructions.

NOTE: I silicone the bulbs in and recommend that it be done that way if self installed. Some foglights have water intrusion from the factory and once you get any moisture in the housing it will blow the HID bulbs. Why take a chance?

Pictures of a completed foglight assembly (NOTE: the wiring will be shorter)

I'm interested in these as well...just sent PM about sills/bezel. May have to wait until end of next month on the lights, though, as the sills/bezel may 'eat' all my extra $$$ I have right now.

Do you plan on going to Commerce the first weekend in Nov or going down to Wilmington before Thanksgiving?

I can tell you it's not a DDM Tuning kit.

These kits use the latest digital ballasts and 35watt bulbs. I don't recommend 55watt bulbs for the foglights because there is too much heat generated in a small space. I'll warranty the kit for 2 years.

If you bring product with you --you may be too busy to watch any racing--but then again --you are the best at what you do and you do it fast...so a though for you to ponder..........

two questions,

One, any output shots with these on at night?

Two, what brand HID kit do you use? I assume the bulbs/ballasts all come from the same place

NICE! what about the a headlight option...

I can get you a headlight HID kit, but to save you some money you can order kits from eBay and cut out me... the middle-man.

The only caveat.... only order from a seller in the U.S. The sellers from overseas may be cheaper but it will take longer to get the kit and it's a hassle to return anything.

What ever way you decide to go, I'll be happy to assist with the installation.

PM me if you have any questions.

I can get the heel guards and pedal covers with "MARAUDER" on them.

Heel guards: I don't have any pictures of the heel guards, but you can get them in any finish that the pedal covers come in.

I haven't installed my test set yet, so no pictures. Will try to get some posted. Will be doing some upgrades to another Marauder soon and will take lots of pictures...

All HID kits are essentially the same. The kit I use contains the latest in digital ballasts (you can see it in the picture, it's the small square black box), associated wiring and your choice of HID bulb / color temperature. I get these in a kit.

I wanted to make these easy to install, that's is why I need the wiring harness from the foglight bulb to the first connector. So all you will need to do is either remove the entire foglight assembly (4 phillip-head screws and disconnect one connector) and send them to me or if you want new foglights, I get the foglights and you just send that short wiring harness.

I try to make all my upgrades easy to install, minimum amount of work and use of tools.

I have a tons of upgrades I've either done to my MM or am thinking about but most will involve a serious amount of work.

Whats the price on the heel gaurds?

Heel guards are $50.00 for any finish except the grid finish. Grid finish is an extra $40.00. Customizing is extra.

I think he means taking them out and putting them back in. Using the H10 bulb saves so much time compared to modding the H1 bulb holder.

I've had my HIDs in for 4 years (foglights) and 6 years (headlights). Haven't had any of them burn out.

Yes, the HID conversion to the foglights makes changing the bulbs slightly harder than the OEM bulbs but it's not too difficult.

How do you change the bulbs if they've been glued in?

They are not really "glued" in, more like sealed in with silicone which is very easy to remove and replace.

Roger that. The guy I bought my DTR from looked like he tried to copy your idea and it went very bad. He tried to use hot glue and lets just say I could have used my fog lights for housing gold fish disco style lol. Now, if using an H10 bulb, will the silicone still be necessary?

Yes, and the base of the bulb needs to be modified.

This is not a one time offer to the first x number of people.

I'll also get you HIDs in any color temperature. I recommend 4300K, 5000K or 6000K. You can go all the way up to 12000K if you want.

I was seeing what the total cost would be for the set up ? Of taking my car into a HID install shop they ha e used some kind of Electric Gun machine to try to follow where the shortest they really couldn't find anything and I don't want them poking around too far deep .
