I posted a pic of my new Bob White Decals...Ruby Red/Reflective in the photo gallery. As soon as Logan approves, you can see.

Todd,
I think the red looks better than the white. Any black reflective out there yet?

thanks...I like it as well. It was dusk when I took the pic and I couldn't get my camera not to flash. So, it came out a little more "orange" than it actually is. I liked the white...just decided on the red.

The Ruby Red reflective looks great---------I just ordered a set.
I suggested Bob White send you a commission:)

No commission...just wish he'd become a sponsor. I emailed Bob a pic, as well, and asked him to check out the site and to contact Logan. If he'll just do that, I'd be happy.

Saw a chevy Z66 P/U that had a gray to white reflective type decal that had this fade to it ?Made me think how good that might look as MARAUDER?I think this a 03 truck,it had huge 20" chrome wheels? It looked nice.I'm a sucker for cool cars and trucks.

The reds look real good. I ordered the black reflective last week. They should be arriving soon and I will give a review after I install them.

Mike,

I have the black reflective in hand. But can't do anything until Saturday.

Not sure why but the letters were sent cetified. Which required a trip to the post office. And the were $.23 postage due!!!!

Luckily my frind has off Mondays so he picked them up for me.

They are sent certified due to their policy of notification within 3 days of receipt if there are any problems with the decals. As you can see, there is not much to them (although, I would NOT want to produce them myself). Mine were sent to my office so I don't know if there was a .23 charge or not. AND, it only took me about 3 minutes to put them on. VERY SIMPLE!

I'd love tinted ruby red reflective on mine. :)

I wonder how hard it'd be to tint them before you put them on.

Hey toddalan:

I ordered mine in Ford Blue reflective, but it's been too cold to put them on...(no garage)...you say they were easy to install...the instructions that came with mine said I needed Windex, alcohol (my favorite liquid!), an x-acto knife, etc...

Big question: once you wet the back and put them in place, is there any wiggle room for alignment, or do they stick instantly?

RF,

Forget the exacto knife. Just wipe down the bumper area with a clean, cotten cloth with alcohol on it. Let dry. Do that again with another "clean" side of the cloth. Let dry. (this is all of 45 seconds) Peel off the "M" in your fingers. Spray the back (adhesive side) with Windex and place with your fingers in the indention for the "M". You have about 3-5 minutes movement of the letter if you need to, but its fits perfectly in there. Once it's set, move on to the next letter and repeat. I mean it, it only took me 3 minutes to do the whole thing. Mine was in the garage though (even though it's been in the 20's in ATL). The sheet recommended heating with a blow/hair dryer if below 60 degrees. I think you should be able to pull it off outside. Call Mr. Bob White if you have any other questions @ Phone: 1-561-483-3526 if you have any other questions.

ALSO...Donald, I sent the address to this thread to Bob and he's mad at the PO for charging you .23. He wants your contact info to refund.

AS WELL...Logan, I sent you an email. Bob is interested in becoming a sponsor...

I hope this is helpful. RF, looking forward to a pic of the "Ford Blue"

Todd:

Thanks for the excellent feedback...It's supposed to be in the upper 40's on Sunday, maybe I'll try it then...I REALLY want to see how this looks!

Todd,

I already sent Mr. White an e-mail Monday. Have heard nothing. Don;t care about the .26. More concerned about the certified mail and having to go to the P.O for a $30 product.

Just as toddalan said, the bumper inserts install very easily...I put mine on yesterday and they look great, both day and night...pics to follow, as soon as I figure out how...

I installed my black reflective decals this weekend. Very subtle during the day, but they jump right out when the lights hit them at night. That was just what I wanted.:)

Hey you guys that did the Ruby Red Reflective inserts, did you have transfer tape on the letters? I thought that they would be more reflective then this, but there doesn't seem to be any on them. Not knowing for sure I didn't want to force the issue and ruin them. Please help!!!!

Thanks

Don't know much about 3M adhesives, or, "transfer tape," and the enclosed instructions confused me a bit too. Cleaning the area with alcohol was presumed a necessary step before I read that. Applying a coat of windex threw me, perhaps it serves to give you a moment of "fudge time" before the 3M stuff takes affect, or it may be a chemical agent the adhesive reacts to. Temperature during application also seems important, but I really don't know more...Sorry.

As for the "reflectiveness," I'm satisified with the set I got. Try flashing your set with a flashlight in a dark room. I'm happy with mine, and if you're not, you may have a wrong pull from the parts guy filling your order. I didn't see any part numbers anywhere on the package I got.

Well . . .

WOULD Have received mine (black reflective) Friday, except for the damned registered mail he uses. I asked him to use a USPS Flate Rate envelope for the decals and put delivery confirmation on it. then it's $3.85 plus $0.45 for DC. It saves $3.65 from what he charges. Of course I am not home when the mail arrives so I did not get them, and since it was Friday I have to now wait until Monday *IF* they get the card with my sig back by then. Otherwise it's a trip to the post office, which is very hard for me to make since I work out of town from where I live.

:mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :censor: :censor: :censor:

Sent him an email today explaining these things.

Can we get together and mail this guy as a group and tell him:

1) Stop gouging people on shipping - $7.95 my a$$ :bs:

2) If he needs delivery confirmation so badly he can use the $0.45 version that doesn't pi$$ off the customers. I know I will never order from him again until this policy is changed.

Sorry about the rant. Many of you know as well as I that once we get any modification we want it done as soon as is possible. Unnecessary delays just raise blood pressure levels . . ..

Thanks,
-A

Sorry to hear of your delay...

I'm not interested in any"class action" email stuff with Bob White...when I've spoken to him (and others here, who may have had wrong letters shipped) he's been very cooperative and helpful.

I think, from a business standpoint, Bob's need for Certified mailings are necessary due to the fact of the nature of his product (a relatively simple piece of backing paper with 8 letter-decals on it) for roughly $40...he probabaly knows what he's doing.

Get used to not seeing them...black reflective? Unless you are blue or silver...you will only see white when light hits it.

Find your $3 savings elsewhere, I say.

Thanks for the comments TAF, but I have a question.

[reply]

So, what's the difference between certified and delivery confirmation? The only thing is the signature - they even come in the same mailer IIRC. I don't see why DC is not sufficient. It covers him from a business standpoint as he has proof of delivery. Sure, someone could steal the mail, but then again it's more likely that someone steals stuff off your car in a parking lot.

[quote]

[reply]

That was the point of ordering black reflective, yes. They are for the most part invisible until dark.

[reply]

As I have said before, it's not about the money, although that doesn't help the situation. It's about being inconvenienced and having to pay more to do so. (I'm also not the first on the board to express discontent with the process)

I have mentioned all of this to Bob. Just thought it might be worth others' time (and money) to try and make things a little easier on the customers. After all, good businesses care about customer needs.

Thanks,
-A

Can we get together and mail this guy as a group and tell him:

As I stated...I'm not interested in any "class-action" emailings...for the most part...they're usually asinine.

1) Stop gouging people on shipping - $7.95 my a$$ :bs:

Did you not understand the charges before you ordered? I see them plainly stated on his site. Strong statement "gouging"...like I said if you need the $s...let me know.

2) If he needs delivery confirmation so badly he can use the $0.45 version that doesn't pi$$ off the customers. I know I will never order from him again until this policy is changed.

I think the only folks that are angry...are you and Cliff Claven...

If you want...we can keep this going and close this tired, old thread.

Or...you can just order from one of the other suppliers of inserts.
