He's going to laugh and hang up the phone. That car is immaculate. One of the rare "perfect" ones. I don't see him selling for any less than 13.5.

Just ran it through the Kelly Blue Book website:
Excellent: $14,860
Good: $14,135
Fair: $12,960
With no additional information about tire wear, a visual inspection of the car and a test drive, I would start at $12,500. You can always go up.
If that's too rich for you, there are other cars that will come along. Don't be afraid of looking further away from home. There are many Members here that could always be your "eyes" out there and you could fly out and drive home. Many here have done that. Of course you have to factor that cost (flying and gas to drive home) into the overall calculation.
Definitely check out the one I posted up the For Sale forum from Buzzards Bay.

Not better. Personal preference. 03 & 04 are equally great as they are MMs. I am partial to the 2003 300a's as they don't have traction control. That being said, I would not turn away any MM. They all are a BLAST to drive! :burn:

under the car should i stay away look at that rear cap rusty

Good luck, the rust underneath looks a little rough. Not bad though.
The exterior looks very mint, seats look good. The 04 is a good year to have as its a touch newer than 03 and has the better transmission.
I bought mine from a dealer where it was a one owner car, only had 46K on mine when I got it, drove 6 hours to get it.
Take some AMSOIL HD metal protect and coat the whole underneath of the car to stop the rust. The cam and engine covers look a bit bitten by rust too, WD-40 and give them a polish to keep the rust at bay.
Before you beat on it I'd suggest: do a pan drop on the transmission and get a rear head cooling mod from reinhartautomotive.com and new coolant. Battery may be on last legs too. Check service records for fuel filter. Lastly put in some fresh 75-140 synth gear oil in the diff, some have had axle problems you could prevent a lot of problems if you address these above.
Good luck

HD metal protect is in a spray can. I'd offer close to asking. Mention the rust and origional battery. etc. There are very few cars left with low miles like the one you looked at -- so If you want it get it.

2004 has upgraded transmission with traction control. It also has dual NOC sensors which allows for running on lower grades of gas other than premium. 2003 has only one NOC sensor and limited slip 100% of the time. You can run same size tire all the way around on a 2003. Also, early 2003s are known to need axles replaced earlier.
Best way to know how much to pay for a car is to call a bank and ask what is the loan value. Closest to that price is a good deal.

I would be a little concerned about the rust on the undercarriage and the pitting on the valve covers and other under hood parts. These parts generally don't develop pitting like that unless they were exposed to salt or water for a prolonged period. I recently purchased an 04 with 43k and the engine compartment and bottom were free of rust and corrosion. Be careful about Flood cars. Did you do a car fax
