Hey Tom! Some guys will race but you absolutely do not have to race if you don't want. It's a chance to meet with other MM owners and MM.net members very close to your house. You should bring that super-clean, low mileage Silver down.

Hi Tom,
There is a spectator entrance fee, usually like $12. I looked on their website and I couldn't find how much. If you plan on racing (I know, you do not) it's $40 on 11/6.

It is not a car show, it is a get together. However, I usually see it as a kind of car show. I like to wander around the pit area checking out the cool cars. We'll hang-out in the pits and head over to the stands to watch racing as we please. Last year, we had 7 MM's and a few others show up to support/cheer-on the few that did race. You can show up whenever and stay as long or short as you'd like.

Since I know how eager you are to meet other owners and also how close Raceway Park is to you, I think it's a great opportunity for you to meet some cool folks who enjoy their Marauders as much as you.

Bad news: got about 3" of snow yesterday at the track. All events were cancelled.
Good news: our MM gathering is planned for NEXT weekend! ;)

Preliminarily, weather for next weekend looks very good. Saturday and Sunday: partly to mostly sunny, very low chance of rain, temps upper 50's-low 60's.

I'm going to pass on this, Im not fighting all this traffic or drive miles out of the way, then have to pay several tolls to make it out there.

Have fun gents, there is a car show at Belmont raceway on Long Island that I'll likely do instead and then head to E-town on the 20th.

It's funny, I had a scare earlier today when I checked the Raceway Park schedule. Because of the snow last week, some of the events got moved to this week. I kept seeing (1/8 open). I contacted the track to confirm that the 1/4 is open also.....it is.

Now this. :( I don't blame you 1 bit Paul. That marathon locks up all of NYC. The trip would be hell! Good thing you checked. I usually get screwed by the 5-Borough Bike Tour.

I still plan on heading down to the track on Sunday AND I'll do everything in my power to go on 11/20 also. Keeping in mind that the track is about 15 mins from my house. I did send out about 10 PM's. Of the few I heard back from, most were unable to make it (1 or 2 "I'll try"'s but not promising)

If you guys with the longer trips want to bail, that's cool. I completely understand. (Derek I know you have a long trip and 01LXHPP, I'm not sure where you're coming from).

Sorry guys, I did the drive during the Marathon 2 years ago. No :censor:ing way was I gonna do that again.
Its a 35 minute drive with no traffic, it took me 4 hours to get home the last time.

I was one of those in the beginning to say yay!, we'll be there--but then I mapquested---2-1/2 hours one way (IF there's no traffic through Wilmington--which there usually is) so that pushed it up to 3 hours one way. Eh, too far to drive each way and RACE:(. Well, maybe next year we'll stay over somewhere close Saturday night and not have to drive far to track Sunday morning...........

I don't know about Sparta, but I still plan on coming with my dad. I have never been able to leave New York state without hitting traffic unless it's 6 am on a weekend. I was already planning on hitting outrageous traffic just like every other time I try to leave Long Island.

You're a trooper. I wish I could say just go up and over GWB and take 95 down but that wouldn't be much of a bargain. Traffic is gonna be rough; the NYC Marathon STARTS on the Verrazano.
If you do make it over, there are a few good diners, depends on how you come down.
If you take the NJ Tpke to Garden State Pkwy to Rt9 (exit 123): The diner I believe Blackened300a is referring to is the Peter Pank Diner. It's the 1st 1 you'll see. It's on the left side (northbound side), getting to it would be a pain as you'd have to make a u-turn to get there then another u-turn after you leave to get on Rt 9 South. The 2nd, Bridgeway Diner, is down about 3 miles on the right. It's just past Rt516 on the right. You kinda have to get off into a service road but it's pretty easy. The 3rd, Marlboro Diner, is beyond Texas Rd (where you'd make a right to go towards the track). It's about 3/4 mile down on the right.
If you take NJ Tpke to Exit 9 (Rt18 South): I don't know that area as well as above. There is a diner down about 5-7 miles on the right once you get on Rt18, just past the Brunswick Square Mall.

I didn't go. I didn't want to leave really early to beat the traffic in or be sitting in traffic the whole ride home. November 20th, Im heading to E-town to see how the headers perform. Hows the new tune feeling after a week?

Tune freaking rocks! I love it.. Although I did get a nice 255lph in tank pump and new screen installed which I could feel..

I'll have to wait for spring to find out how fast it is.

I didn't run anywhere as good as my 14.2 last year. My first run the tires didn't hook and I got a 14.8. My second run I did a bigger burnout and took some air out of my rear tires and got a perfict launch, but I ended up with a 15.1 ??? For my third run I got on line with my car at a little after 1:00 and never got to run because for the rest of the day they were cleaning blown up engines of the track. I was waiting over three hours and the line barely moved. The track just keeped closing repetly for the rest of the day and then the track closed at sunset.

Yeah, I think I would have hurt someone having to only run twice and then have to leave at sundown.
So 14.8 with a bad launch and then 15.1 on a good launch? Cold engine run vs hot lapped engine run? Last year it was brutally cold out with temps in the 40's. Plus we had 2 hour down time after tech, then we had a few hours between runs. Do anything to the car recently?? More gas in the tank, full trunk, haven't changed the filters in a while?

You missed a good track day, Paul.

The air was cool and with the sun out, the track was really biting.

Hopefully 11/20 will be as nice.
