Has anybody tried the Lucas gear oil for our rear ends? I wanted to try it since im getting a new axle put in. It says you dont need any additives. Does anybody reccomend this?

When I had the 4.10s put in I used Royal Purple and it said the same thing. A friend of mine did the work. He trains Ford Techs and recommended using it. He used the additive that came with the FRP install kit. IIRC, the stuff is 4oz and pretty cheap insurance. It does stink like hell though. I have had zero issues.

Did you use 75w-90...or 75w-140??

Ford recommends 75w-140.

If you use a good quality synthetic fluid like Redline you don't need the additive (friction modifier)

Don't know where I can find redline in the DMV..never seen it.

Any FLAPS should have it or can order it. I bet most performance / speed shops will carry it.
