View Full Version : Interior trim idea?

Been thinking about the interior trim piece under the radio and was remembering how nice the one in my Grand Marquis was.
Heres a pic of the GM and notice how it says "GRAND MARQUIS"...Kinda hard to see in the pic (It's on the wood grain trim piece under the radio)
http://www.supermotors.net/registry/media/812244
It was written in silver from the factory to match the thin trim of silver on top of the woodgrain...
Anyways, I've been thinking about this piece in the Marauder and this pic really shows how plain it looks:

I know some Marauders came with a digital clock in this location and it looks really nice there.
Has anyone ever found a nice "MARAUDER" decal to put here?
Or has anyone ever thought of or heard of any good ideas for this?

Was considering the decal/God's head, but miss the Grand Marquis style too much.
Scangauge is way too much for me! lol (looking for subtle)
And CBT, your coil covers are still bugging me!
(Gots to get those next)
My wife suggested finding someone to airbrush it. Gonna call for some quotes...

Here is what I did!!
W/ that mod Marauderjack, am I wrong to assume that you just run the OBDII cable down the left side w/ out any other modifications besides obviously cutting a hole for the SGII?

I ran the cord right through the dash behind where the gauge is mounted!!
The tricky part is cutting the hole smaller and filing it out for a "press fit"!!!:D

That item number gives me the following listing at tasca:
Item Number: 3W3Z54046A62CAB MSRP: $474.83 CORE: $0.00 PRICE $313.39
Instrument panel - Instrument panel - Trim molding - Marauder
Charcoal Right 2003 - 2004
Can it really cost that much for that thin stip of faux carbon fiber?

If I could find an inexpensive replacement trim part I would try it myself using a Dremel, but there's no way in h*ll I am attempting that mod to the trim piece currently on the MM myself! :o I am honestly not that skilled or confident. :(
Thank you for your response Marauderjack!

I believe I ordered decal part # MMM1+ from his website. It is the decal for the mirrors. Or, I had them custom made to fit. He will make them in any size.

Hi -
Could you post a picture of this?
I was thinking of installing the ScanGauge or my V1 in place of the compass.
Thanks,

If you don't want to tackle this I can do it for you. Will even include the extra cable needed.

Here's mine. The flag was already on the car. I had the decal made at a sign shop. Matches the indentations in the bumper.

Has anyone mounted a V1 in place of the compass?
I got a replacement console and I've started cutting - It looks like the V1 will fit nicely.
