Unique Diamond Baffle Directs Exhaust w/ Almost No Flow Restriction
Produces Unmistakable Deep Aggressive Growl

Methinks they look loud... ;)

I'm a quiet exhaust kinda guy, so I'm not sure they'd be something I'd want, and they should definitely make more noise that the OEM mufflers.

Oh yeah there going to be way loud! maybe you should look at dynomax , or borla mufflers, less noise:beer:

Flowmasters or Magnaflows will work, or PM vkirkend, he's got a nice set up on his car, but I can't recall exactly what he went with to replace the Aeros on IMPS #1.

They are cheap enough I would install before doing res delete & try. You may get what you want combining these with the res tips. You can always do res delete after...

'Zakly, that's why I kept my OEM mufflers, and opened up the exhaust system ahead of them.

The engine breathes much better, but the cabin is still very quiet.

Also, FWIW, Roush had some big input into the design of the exhaust system, and the OEM mufflers actually flow quite well, so the biggest change you'll get from changing them out is noise, not power.

I used to love my 50's till I did the LT's, no cats, and X. The noise they made after that, I didn't even want to drive the car! As much as I don't like Magnaflow, it seemed to be the only muffler (18" case) that doesn't changed sound throughout the Rpms in normal driving. You would not believe how behaved and quiet my car is with those, untill you nail the gas, they freakin SCREAM with the LT's, a quality scream as well. If that isn't enough, I'll just crack open the cutouts. :)

The only thing on those that concerns me is the aluminized steel contruction. If driven year round and your roads are salted in the winter. they may not last long.

Ray, don't concern yourself too much with that. I did at first myself with my old delta 50 flowmasters. I got three years of year round use out of them before taking them off because the racket they made with the headers and I was totaly shocked how perfect they held up! LowbuckMM actually wants to put them on his car now. I figured two years tops, who knew?

That's a good point.

I can see wanting different mufflers after adding headers and different mid pipe. Glad I held onto the stock mufflers as an option...

Sure I'll be doing the same thing when I get those.

Do you have any exhaust videos?
What exactly are cutouts?

No recent ones yet, but I will try to get some videos up soon. I kept my stockers as well, but heard small rust chunks inside so opted out on those. Google HPE Badlanz for the cut outs. I bought the custom version in stainless with the turndowns and mounted them right at the header collectors.

My buddy has bullets on his T/A with dumps. I wouldn't want to drive with them everyday, just go for magnaflows 18" or Borla XS. They are enjoyable cruising and loud at WOT

It popped up after the video of the Mustang I thought. It may have been after one of the other videos on their home page media section. I'm so-so at hooking up links but I'll see what I can do.:)

Thanks for the info! I was going by experience from like 20 years ago. They are probably using much better steel now.

Just a warning. If you do the rear cat delete, keep the stock tips! The sound is just annoying with the res-delete tips and a free flowing set of mufflers. On the highway it drones and it will drive you nuts. Plus the exhaust resonation is much more pronounced.
Either mufflers or the rear cat delete are more for sound then performance.

Aeros are loud when you are on the gas and semi quiet when cruising. Jones Full Boar straight-thru with no packing would be my next choice in a muffler.

PM Malibuguy on here, he can tell you a lot more about the Jones mufflers. I'm going to have him do the exhaust work on my 08 Taurus and put a Jones on. He also did my exhaust and several other members vehicles on here as well.

I just remembered Russ, tell the installer you want the muffler weights left on the system. They stop vibrations in the cabin from the exhaust. I'm waiting for your impressions of these. The price is certainly right. I need to replace from the X pipe back as it looks like ass. I think with the OEM tips these maybe doable for me at a reasonable cost.

I was looking at the ad again. Did anyone notice the Toyota Yaris header at the bottom of the page? It just struck me as funny that they'd have a header for a high MPG car.

I went with FRPP shorty headers, replaced the two OEM cats with one set of Magnaflow high flow cats and and a Mac Procharger mid-pipe.

You can turn off sensors via tuner after doing the cat delete.

Baconbit
10-26-2011, 08:39 PM
A rear cat delete alone will not set off any codes...the cats are behind the o2 sensors...if you replace all then you will need to turn the code off with a tuner.
