Since we have the same motor as the Mach 1, can i buy a set of headers for that application and it will fit on my marauder with no problem? I really want a set, but i cant afford long tubes now, if it will fit, any recomendations on brand. For those of you who already have them installed please give me as much info that you can spare. thank you very much for the help:D

Yes the shorty headrrs from a Mach1 will fit the engine. The down pipe mounting is different so you'll have to get new pipes made up.
You will also have to shim the drivers side engine mount by about 1/4". Some grind or bend the steering shaft which I wouldn't recommend.
I also shimmed the passenger side so the motor is still even.
I have FRP stainless steel jet hot coated shorties.

I have the same FRP shorties too.
After my dyno day today, I would say save your money and do long tubes....

^^What where your gains?
Your going to have to find a Mach I/Cobra/Mustang mid pipe or have your installer fabricate something for you. JBA Short tube headers are the only ones I know of that are still available. FRPP Shorty's are discontinued.
JBA shorty headers which are CARB approved. Link: http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=58536&highlight=shorty+headers

+1 ^^^^^
If I had to do it again I wouldn't do it.
Total about $800.00 material and labor and dyno tune for NO detectable gain e.t. wise.:confused:
Just my 4.6 cts. worth.

Don't buy LT's for a cobra, they will not fit whatsoever unless you cut them up and completely reroute a couple primaries and apply massive amount of heat to move the collectors away from the trans. Been there, done that. It would have been quicker and easier just to make my own. If you have the money, buy what fits (or what is suppossed to fit at least...) or if you have the time, tools, and knowledge, take some personal pride in designing your own. I did mine on a budget and trying to see if we had some other options. They are not Stainless, so they will be swapped out someday when the funds are there.

Ford shorties provide no gain. The only shorties I will use are JBA's.
